Charlie,
I believe Wen is using Oregano to block the progesterone receptors in breasts! She is being our guinea pig! She is on Depo, which is high in progesterone. You may want to give that a try too, she just started with organo, so if you both tried it...you can be a Guinea Pig too!

How about damiana? Isn't that a progesterone blocker? I think Wen is using oregano instead of damiana because she didn't want the increased libido.

Oooh, and if damiana is ok to use, I heard it is a herb to be used in latter part od cycle. Is this because it is meant to counteract the progesterone levels which are naturally higher in that period? Or should one just use the same amount everyday?

i am planning to add RC and hops to my massages( i am on BO) but i found it is much cheaper to buy the capsules instead of the extracts, can i break caps and use in my batter? can you tell me how many mg of RC and hops are you using in your batter each time? that way i will know how many caps to break and how much to buy.
and also, can i take hops internally along with BO? i will be on BO, pregenenolone and 5000 mg of SP shortly. what is the dose of hops taken internally, i have found it in 310 mg caps.

If you're using glandular BO, adding internal phytos is not recommened...that's what hops are.
According to Fawn, unless us steep the herbs in rum or alchol for about 2 weeks, u can't get the 'essence' of what's inside, so u can't equate pills quantity directly to extract quantity. Extracts will last just as long if not longer than caps, and works already done.
To make booby juice, I mixed equal parts of each one....a teaspoon of hops, teaspoon of fenugreek, teaspoon of RC and added food grade aloe gel to add some consitency. Still kinda soupy, so I've put in a container that has a pipette. I put about a nickel-sized amount in my palm, add a few drops of EPO capsule, rub hands together, then massage until absorbed.

just one quick question, i know you bought RC and hops from vitacost, i was looking at their products, did you buy the 1OZ bottles of RC and hops from nature's answer from them? how long is the 1oz bottle lasting for you? just asking so that i have a rough idea how many bottles i might need for a 6mth supply.And what dose of oregano are you taking daily?

The amount of cost added to the product just for putting it in capsules is pretty high. You can of course get the bulk herbs through Mountain Rose (links at my website). Or - you can get them at your local health food store. For any kind of herb - they must be "prepared" for them to be properly used topically. Since you don't have digestive enzymes and hydrochloric acid on your skin to break down the components - you need to break them down by preparing them properly. Leafy or soft herbs can be steeped. Roots, barks and seeds need to be boiled. Wen - steep your RC and hots in a small amount of boiling water BEFORE adding it to the aloe. The fenugreek needs to be boiled for 5 minutes - use the water. Just use small amounts of water, and/or reduce the amount (like in cooking stock) by boiling down on a simmer to a stronger consistancy. To use an alcohol extract, use 1 part herb (either leafy or root) to 8 parts alcohol (use vodka, not rum). Crush/bruise herb (grind for roots/barks) and place in jar. Cover with vodka and close tightly. Place in warm, dark place for two weeks, shake jar daily. Filter through coffee filter and store in dark bottle. To use, you can reduce the "sting" of the alcohol by removing the dosage from the jar, placing in a cup and allowing the alcohol to evaporate for a couple of minutes before applying. I use small disposable dixie cups (3 oz bathroom) for premixing such things - like my face wash, etc. fawn www.botanicalbeautylab.com |
