I know I've seen this talked about before, but can someone please tell me what the benefits are from taking EPO? I've searched the posts, can't find where I saw it, and this afternoon have searched the web so much about it that I am now cross-eyed. All I can find about it is that it's good for breast soreness. Does it not have an effect as far as increasing the bust line?
Thanks! Grace

Yeah, you are right, Fawn has been researching the "boobie" benefits of EPO. I personally cannot take it internally, it causes me cramping ALL THE TIME. But Pammy had a lot of success with it. It's also very good for your body, skin, nails, hair. So...that's prolly why you are NOT finding a lot of information on the board about it. There's not a lot out there. If you find sumptin' post it...after you uncross your eyes that is.

Pretty much all I've found out about it is that it's good for PMS, reduces prostaglandins, and is good for hair, skin, nails.
No real "verdict" on whether or not prostaglandins are good or bad for BE, since there's many different kinds, etc.

My experiences to date show that internally, it's overkill, I get irreuglar spotting..the whole nine, however, it's great for use as an oil with the boobie batter. It makes u really work to get things absorbed into skin...and makes it softer, too.

I take both EPO and fish oil concentrate because one contains omega-3 fatty acids and the other contains omega-6 fatty acids (I can't remember which way round). I know that they are both essentital to health, including skin and hair, but I don't know anything more specific (sorry!) As I'm trying to get things growing, I take both oils (and also vitamins and minerals) in the hope that I'm covering everything I might need. (Also making sure I get lots of carbs and proteins.) I just did a quick search on Google: Fish oil contains omega-3 fatty acids EPO contains omega-6 fatty acids
It seems that there are many know benefits of omega-3 (eg reducing cardiovascular disease), but there seems to be less info on omega-6, which apparently western diets are naturally high (too high) in anyway.
I like taking EPO though because when I was a teenager and suffered with terrible PMS (terrible moods!), EPO seemed to really help. Not sure if it is the omega-6 or something else...??

Wow, thanks everyone, for your great replies. It does make me want to do some more research on it. I'm thinking, since it obviously has an effect on our bodies in one way or another, that it must affect the breasts, too. If it's good for the hair, skin, etc., maybe it will help with the growth I'm looking for! No harm trying, anyway. I have to admit that I started using the EPO because I saw it in Pammy's routine, and I would love to have those results! Call me a copycat, I don't care! LOL.

<<Premenstrual syndrome In women with PMS, the conversion of linoleic acid to gamma-linolenic acid is probably impaired. As a result, these women are unusually sensitive to the hormone prolactin, which is involved in the development of the breast and the production of milk. Most studies (but not all) have showed more relief of symptoms with evening primrose oil than with placebo. Evening primrose oil, a capsule three times a day, was usually given for three to four months. In a study reported in the Lancet in 1985, forty five percent of women with painful breasts found a great reduction or an elimination of their pain after using six capsules of evening primrose oil a day for three to six months, compared to a twenty percent improvement in the placebo group.>> I found this at: www.rienstraclinic.com/info/nutrition/Evenprim.htmThis article seems to be saying that women who suffer from PMS have a sensitivity to prolactin, and that sensitivity may be causing the PMS. If we have a sensitivity to prolactin because of the problem with linoleic acid switching to gamma-linolenic acid, perhaps our bodies are working against the prolactin that we need for breast growth. Soooo, if EPO reduces that sensitivity, thereby relieving the PMS somewhat, perhaps it also frees up the prolactin to "do its thing"! I know what I'm trying to say -- is it clear to you all? Maybe we really DO need EPO in our routines after all!!! Maybe it's as vital as anything else we do. Hmm.

I can only vouch that I had PMS before any BE, took 3g's of EPO while on a routine and grew. It did help with the cramping (or something made it lessen). My boobs were sore anyway, but they were before, too. I did add a lot of phto-estrogens, so they should have been sore, right? My hair and skin was much nicer and nails grew like crazy. I've always liked taking it. It's an essential fatty acid, something your body needs anyway. I still take 1g of it everyday. That's my 2 cents.

Ah - yes I remember reading that EPO desensitized the breast tissues to estrogen and maybe that is why I stopped using it.
Hmmmm....
I tend to look up a lot of info - don't post it all when it's contradictory or can't be applied.
Personally, I don't use it - just fish oil (salmon).
