Hi guys, I'm finally back on board! ;D I've been lurking to see how everyone's getting on but not posting (things have been very upside down for ages! including my periods!). I took a short break which ended up lasting around 2 cycles (day 1 is today so I've decided to go with BO). I'm taking 2200mg of BO, around 3mg SP and am planning on adding oregano and damiana in luteal phase. Should I also up my BO in luteal? Wen, I've been following your posts and will try the oregano/damiana mix as I think I'm long on progesterone. Another thought.... I'm thinking of using a coil form of contraception (mylene or something I think it's called) - it also contains hormones in the stem, which only affect the lining of the womb. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks guys and happy growing! WQ p.s. (When on my break I lost fullness but still have some 'meat' that wasn't there before. I've also lost a bit of fluffiness on my stomach - so I think this was due to the herbs).

Hello, could what you are planning on using be called the Mirena IUD? I have had one for about a year and a half. It is made of plastic instead of metal, has a progestin strip on its surface and can last up to five years. It seems to be working wonderfully (I don't use any other form of birth control since I am in a full-time relationship...never have been one to sleep around) and I love having it. I chose to use it because I have trouble using birth control pills (even the low estrogen gave me headaches and moodiness plus really bad pms). It seems made most of my PMS symtoms go away, stopped my monthly cramps (I used to get really bad cramping during my periods - huddling in a coner in fetal position on pain killers bad), made my periods very light (I used to get quite heavy periods) and I now menstruate regularly...almost every 28 days exactly (I used to be irregular varying from 27 days to my longest stint of 37..). My doctor actually recommended it to me...she actually said that this type of IUD works pretty much as well as having your tubes tied. (pretty bold statement). Anyhow, they don't usually recommend IUD's unless you've had children already because of how it has to be inserted. However, I have never had children and have a small retroverted uterus...and have had no problems yet. However, having it "installed" wasn't the most fun experience...quite uncomfortable actually... and you can have cramping afterwards for a day or two. But, much of this might have had to do with the fact that I have had no children, plus because I am retroverted, it was more difficult for them to "install". I think it is worth it in the end though. No pills, no mess, no worries. They also have a website with lots of info: www.mirena.com/Sorry I seem a bit biased, but it fixed so many issues I had all at once, I am more than happy to recommend it. However, I know some people can have problems with it. Good luck with it, and take care, Twilightsrose

Hi WQ, Next stop...GROWSVILLE! ;D I am back on the train too. In luteal phase, got them sore "girls" back. Hurts, but tells me sumptin' happenin', lots of sharp pains (not painful) and tiny tingles...nuttin' like I used to have. So we'll see what :-*AF brings me in a few weeks. FINGER, EYES, TOES, LEGS, anything that crosses, will be cross for BOTH OF US! Nice to hear about the TINGLES! Gotta' love tingles. Here's too BIG PERKY BOOBIES! ;D Bust of Luck to you WG!

I have mirena right now. My doctor recommended after I had my baby to prevent another pregnancy - two advantages is that I can take it out whenever I wanted and I don't have to do anything (i.e. remember to take pills, etc.)
My periods have completely stopped. But I was pretty irregular before and I only menstrated every other month before. I was also breastfeeding so I wasn't menstrating before I got it.
The only problem I see is that my sex drive has taken a nosedive. Or maybe that's having a baby. :-) I dunno.
