It's been a long time I know. I'm still doing the herbs and have grown about 1/2 more. BUT was wondering if anyone can answer this....Can BE cause ovarian cysts? i just had another CT Scan and it shows 2 cysts one on each side, it shouldn't be a normal functional cyst since I'm on birthcontrol (although it's still a possibility) but just wondering if it could have anything to do with this? Thanks!!!

Quite honestly, in MY opinion for what it's worth. I think the phyto-estrogens could cause ovarian cysts. But...in the case of PCOS, it is being found to be caused by insulin resistance....I have personally found cutting down on my carbs (no...I WILL NOT CUT THEM OUT), but a few less handfuls of chips, bread, cookies...has really helped my PCOS tremendously. I also noticed when I was on HBA Bust Boosters, it has Dong Quai, and Red Raspberry...which seemed to help too. ;D Fawn can prolly answer this question much better. Just gave ya' my 2 cents. Cha-Ching!

Hi Herbett I always had cysts on my ovaries. I believe BE made them worse, but I was taking a lot of herbs and BO and I did it for almost 3 years. I only took short breaks. >:(Because of all the extra estrogen I got endometriosis on top of the cysts and ended up having to have a complete hysterectomy. My cysts were they size of grapefruits and doctor had to take both ovaries. Barbara

I have a medical condition due to estrogen excess and have avoided certain things in BE.
That includes avoiding orally taking any fengugreek, or BO. I have heard those products balance hormones but I didn't feel well on it and my condition exacerbated. I have been taking Saw Palmetto (Which blocks androgens and estrogens) and Wild Yam (which raises progesterone), use a progesterone cream mix it with a breast enhancing rub. This way I am raising my progesterone more than my estrogen.
I have heard excess estrogen can cause ovarian cysts so I would be very cautious. Excess progesterone on the other hand rarely causes medical problems. If your boobs are going to remain small and you gain health, so be it.

Hi Some girl, Yes, those warnings are very true. However, women's bodies are built to have excess estrogen at different spans of their lives. The same is true with excess progesterone. During puberty there is basically NO progesterone, the same is true with breast feeding (or should be;) So...the consenses on this issue for the breast tissue(sorry, couldn't resist ) is for short periods of time, not to exceed 1 year without a 3 mos break. Most women's body should be fine with a BE program. As you pointed out, you have a medical condition that MUST be taken into careful consideration. And I would hope that women, are not foolish with their decision to do BE. Boobs are not worth your HEALTH! Thank you for pointing that out and reminding us. I was on BE for 1 year, took a 3 month break, and back on as of Monday. With this return, I will be doing a 3 cycle BE run, then a 1 cycle break. Let my body rest! Hopefully this run, will only be 3 mos...and I will do maintenance doses, 1 pill a day...for hormonal balance. I doubt I would grow much from 1 lil pill! Thank you again!

Thanks for everyones input! I've had 3 Dermoid cysts removed, last one being in May before I started BE. So I normallyI get routine checks. The two cysts I have now are water-filled which should mean it's not a Dermoid. So that's why I'm so curious. I've never had a cyst of this kind. It's probably nothing. In case it is the herbs do you think if I was to go off of them right away the cysts could dissolve? The doctor is supposed to call me tomarrow so I'll see then. I told the nurse what herbs I was taking to just in case. So thanks again.

One more thing...if it is the excess estrogen that can cause cysts does anybody know what kind of cyst it is most likely to cause?
Thanks Momi for the welcome back. I've missed being here but have been reading still now and then. Sounds like you're back to it again. Have you lost any since your break?

NOPE! ;D I actually gained firmness, from using progesterone cream. I was pretty involuted. It was wonderful not having any luteal swelling either. Rarely in my life has that not been the case. Even in my 20's I would get the incredible water retention. So..yeah...just really hoping for some "fullness", still got the "ski jumps" sorta' So..quite happy I didn't loose, didn't gain either!

Mominator, I am sorry. I guess I get worried people will make themselves sick to have breasts. But I know some of you will become more healthy and need the balance from herbs that will give you bonus boobs. A lot of people, I admit, including myself are unfamiliar with the herbs they take. Even research is vague on how it works. And most people are not aware of the profile of their hormones and what they need to be healthy. I hear stories of skipped periods, discomfort, cystic problems, emotional ups and downs from the herbs. Because I have lived with hormonal problems I guess I just don't want to see anyone bring it onto themselves. I want you all to have big boobs, but like the mominator said, be happy and healthy when your bouncing around in them.

Peony root can work rather well against polycystis, but you need to potentialize it with licorice. And not everyone can tolerate licorice for long, unfortunately.
Edit: Of course, it goes without saying that you should always take advice from your usual medic about any herbal treatment you want to undertake.

Yes most folks can't last long on even medium doses of licorice...it's 50x's the sweetness of granulated table sugar! Licorice can only be used moderately, and for short periods of time.

Here we go...in another direction. Gotta' love search for this reason! Hmmm....if you are all referring to PCOS, then licorice would NOT be a good idea for any amount of time. PCOS is being found to be caused by insulin resistance. I did use licorice accidently...it was included with the Milk Thistle I took for a good liver cleanse before returning to BE. No wonders my temps dropped so drastically! Glad I found out, before I did it again! Just straight Milk Thistle for me!
