From: fawn (Original Message) Sent: 4/22/2003 6:47 PM Well, I've been manipulating this data from 40 different angles and I can tell you it's been interesting. After staring at it, a couple of obvious trends appeared and how to sort and present the data became a lot clearer.
Unfortunately a lot of the data isn't as precise as I would like it to be, as in some cases I got more data than I needed or wanted, and in others I didn't get what I needed. I had several people respond to the first survey, who didn't answer the second and couldn't be included in the data, which kind of killed a whole area as you will see below.
Anyway, this is what I found from what was submitted during the second survey...
Twenty-two people responded to the second survey - for the reasons you will see, I have sorted them by body type. No other way made sense, because it really seemed to have an effect on results.
Thyroidal (Communicators) - 3
Gonadal (Nurturers) - 8
Pituitary (Visionarys) - 9
Adrenal (Warriors) - 1 (2 of the Adrenals from the first survey didn't respond the second, so I will not be able to provide any information for them with only one participant.)
I prefer using the glandular name for the body type group (since the names used by Jay Cooper are just an affectation and sort of made up), so I will be using those names. I just prefer the traditional names.
Growth rate is based on a number value based on the way participants rated effects of BE. The value 1.0 equals about 1" or 1 cup growth. Because there were such a variety of programs and times spent on programs, they are compared at the 3 month and 6 month mark, generally. Smaller amounts of change or growth were rated at .15, .25, .5, .75, etc. respective and added up to a cumulative value at the end of three months and at the end of 6 months.
The abbreviation key follows:
H - herbal
B - bovine ovary
P - progesterone cream
T - topical (phyto or epo)
SUMMARY OF BODY TYPES AND TRENDS FOR HIGHER GROWTH RATES:
Thyroidal Group
The fastest & best growers were the "Thyroidal" group, averaging a growth rate of 1.05 during the first 3 months of BE and 1.68 during the first six months. Of the three thyroidal type participants, none failed to get growth on either BO or herbal programs. Our top two "growers" in this body type group used herbal plans during their time on BE.
First participant (6+ months BE) H - 6 months P - 1 month T - 1 month
Second participant (4 months BE) H - 4 months P - 2 months T- 1 month
It follows that Thyroidal types have the best response to herbal programs.
Gonadal Group
These were the second fastest growing group, average a score of .47 during the first 3 months and .87 during the first 6 months. Despite the slower growth, gonadal types also seem to be able to grow on both BO and herbal programs. Our top two growers used both a BO program and an herbal program:
First participant (6+months BE) H - 6 months P - 1 month T- 1 month
Second particpant (4 months BE) B - 4 months P- 4 months T- 1 month
It follows that gonadal types see results on both BO and herbal programs.
Pituitary Group
These were the slowest growing group and have the most difficulty with BE. Pituitary types grow at a slower pace, but they DO grow. Pituitary types rang in with an average growth rate of .41 in the first three months and .51 after 6 months. Interestingly enough, all of our vegetarians came from this group, about 44% were vegetarians, or close enough for jazz. One of our top growers was marked as not a meat-eater, but the other ones fell at the very bottom of the growth rate. Our top two growers in this group both used BO programs:
First particpant (6+ months BO) B – 6 months T – 2 months
Second participant (6+ months BO) B- 6 months P – 2 months T- 1 months
It follows that Pituitary types would be best served on a BO program.
PROGESTERONE:
Okay – here’s one of the most interesting trends found.
Growth rate was compared by cycles. Cycles were defined as months or other short periods of time when a program was used and results or lack thereof were noted. A total of 43 cycles were counted when progesterone cream was used with either B or H and the results are in. In these 43 cycles, 32 of them produced NO GROWTH, 11 produced a growth change – resulting in a rate of 74% of cycles noted during progesterone use with oral B or H, NO GROWTH OCCURRED.
On the Other Hand - 14 cycles were counted where progesterone was used with both oral B or H AND a topical preparation (either herbal or epo) – and in this case, 10 of them produced growth and only 4 did not - 74% of the time when progesterone was used with a topical, there was growth. It did not produce the greatest rate of growth, but did seem to be the only conditions where progesterone cream could be used and result in any growth.
So, it follows that if one is going to use progesterone cream during BE, then a topical cream MUST be used.
As far as the efficacy of topicals themselves, 56% of the cycles they were used produced grwoth, but topical use seemed to be rather infrequent and so, difficult to test.
COMPARISON OF HERBAL VS. BO PROGRAMS
Cycles of BE use were compared by either BO or Herbal type for each body type resulting in the following:
The number under the "growth" and "no growth" columns indicated the number of cycles where that form of BE was used and whether growth or no growth was achieved at the end of that cycle.
Herbal
Growth No Growth
Thyroidal 4 -
Gonadal 5 -
Pituitary 2 7
BO
Thyroidal 1 -
Gonadal 2 -
Pituitary 2 2
Because of the difficulties discovered by Pituitary types to use BE successfully, I broke the data down further for this group with the following results. Judging from these results, a program of straight BO might be best for this group. It also appears that mixed with topical cream, adequate protein and patience, results could be improved for this group. Data follows:
PITUITARY
Type Growth No Growth
H - 1
H/P - -
H/T 2 5
H/P/T - 3
B 6 1
B/P 4 13
B/T 1 -
B/P/T 1 1
GONADAL
Data for the Gonadal group is a little more difficult. Most of them seem to have suffered from an overuse of progesterone cream without a topical cream. Judging from the results below, a program of BO, topical cream and occasional progesterone cream might be most suitable for gonadal types. Overall, fastest growers only used progesterone cream once every two or three months (due to running out, changing their mind, ordering later in the program, etc.) The cyclic use of progesterone (accidental though it might be) seems to be effective for BE, whereas the use without topical cream is completely detrimental. Data follows:
Type Growth No Growth
H 1 5
H/P - 2
H/T 1 5
H/P/T 1 -
B - -
B/P 5 18
B/T - -
B/P/T 2 -
THYROIDAL
I did not bother to break down the thyroidal groups as there were not enough participants to make it worthwhile, since the initial data made it obvious that an herbal program would best suit them, and since that group doesn’t seem to have much trouble on either program. However, the cyclic use of progesterone cream, increase of animal protein, and use of a topical cream still applies to this subgroup.
FINAL SURPRISES
Pregancies didn’t make that much of a difference, except perhaps for the ability to grow particularly large (over a C).
Although girls who took longer to reach full maturity had SOME advantage in BE, it wasn’t consistant enough for our purpose, and is academic.
Meat eaters DEFINITELY had an advantage, but this may be more due to body type, since all vegetarians or partial vegetarians were pituitary types.
Cycle Length: Has little or nothing to do with BE success. Girls showing the most success had 30-34 day. I believe this is because they were slightly estrogen dominant and progesterone deficient.
Now, since I am a thyroidal type, I’m just happy to be almost out of BO and not have to order any more. : ) Also, since we tend to have the attention span of your average chipmunk, I am definitely glad to move on to something else.
However, what would be useful would be if those of you committed to a BE program would keep track of what you’re using on the second survey form and grade results, we can do another set of results in another 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. Perhaps I can come up with an easier format.
I will be continuing with some medical research and will follow these survey results with a report of findings.

Oh this figures! I just redid my body type....now it comes out as a Communicator! What the heck...me is mixed up...I am a Nutricator! Yep...that's my decision!
