Hi I'm new here and I have a question about dosages. I was reading the routine set out by Pammi where she took a high dosage of Wild Yam - around 3000mg a day I think. Is it ok/safe to ignore the dosage suggested on the back of the tablets you have bought? Mine say to take 2 a day and I think it gives me a dosage of around 800mg per day (400mg per capsule) which seems low by comparison. Thanks

In general, the dosage is just a recommendation.. That's why it's called a "recommended dosage"... Doctors don't always prescribe the recommended dosage on medications... Sometimes some people require more than others. You could try the recommended dosage & see what results you have on that.. If it doesn't work, try increasing the dosage gradually.. Also, look around online at places like Amazon & Puritan's Pride & see what the highest dosage of pills you can get are. I know that I've found pills for a common vitamin called Biotin up to 10,000 MG & some as low as 200 MG. Dosage varies greatly, depending on the brand that makes the supplement & also what you're going to be using the supplement for. Also ----- If you're going to do Pammy's routine, I would suggest using liquid extracts & not pills. Liquids are better absorbed by the body, which increases your chances of success with them. In regards to the WebMD thing.. I thought this was interesting: " People with protein S deficiency have an increased risk of forming clots. There is some concern that wild yam might increase the risk of clot formation in these people because it might act like estrogen. There is one case report of a patient with protein S deficiency and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) who developed a clot in the vein serving the retina in her eye 3 days after taking a combination product containing wild yam, dong quai, red clover, and black cohosh. If you have protein S deficiency, it’s best to avoid using wild yam until more is known." What's that sound like to you guys? lol Sounds like she was trying to enhance her bust IMO! I highlighted the part about having protein S deficiency, that way no one overlooked that & just focused on the clot... Her condition was unique & likely won't happen to you, unless you also suffer from protein S deficiency. One other thing to keep in mind, in regards to supplements and herbs & stuff.. Is that more people die every year from properly taken prescribed medications than from natural things. There's a documentary called Food Matters that tells you that vitamins have only been suspected of causing the death of 10 people... Ever.. And it was never proven... Compare that to hundreds of thousands of people that have died this past year alone from "properly taken prescribed medications"... Not junkies & pill addicts.. Just people who take pills or other medications that doctors give them as they're supposed to. So I would say that if your breasts are in good shape & you don't have cancer or something, you should be good to go. Good luck!
