With so many in America who feel stuck because they're not happy with their job (or are unemployed), volunteer work can help in more ways than one.
Sure it's good that volunteer work helps individuals and the community. Volunteering time to work with at-risk children and teens, or taking time out to help a soup kitchen are just some examples of how charity work benefits all.
However, even if you lead a busy life, volunteer work can broaden your horizons in other ways since you can work in fields you've never tried before. From there, it can turn into paid work. And working in a field your happier with certainly helps to improve your life.
Even just volunteering as little as an hour per week can help you if your in a rut. Hence, many with a hectic life can still find the time and come to see that it's worth it.
