I have read up on PM recently and came across a warning in one of the PM ads that PM shouldnt be taken by people who have heart problems. I have a mild heart murmur and was planning on taking PM and I'm not sure if I should anymore. I never had any problems that were related with my heart murmur, was always allowed to do sports, exercise, have not been taking any medication etc. It has always been very mild. Does anyone know any details about why PM shouldnt be taken by individuals with heart probelms and which heart problems are considered dangerous with PM? Would it be alright for me to start on PM? Wahaika, do you know anything about this?
I'll appreciate any help! thanks!

Hi Wahaika!
I read it in the Warnings and Precautions section on the Ainterol Pueraria Mirifica 500 mg capsules ad on their web site. I also read it on some other brand of PM, not sure which one. Do you think this could affect me?

Here's the excerpt from the www.ainterol.us website "Warnings & Precautions Do not use Pueraria Mirifica if: * You are pregnant, nursing or if you have been diagnosed with tumors in estrogen sensitive organs such as ovaries, uterus and /or breast. * You are highly allergic to herbs or herbal remedies. * Do not use any fat blocking medicines while you are take PMC. It have adverse effect to alternative natural treatment and pueraira mirifica will not absorb 100% to your body. * You have been advised by your doctor to avoid sexual activity because of heart problems (take it seriously). * If you have other major chest pain or heart related problems. Be safe and do not experiment with strong pueraria mirifica if your medical condition doesn't allow. * Do not take more pueraria mirifica as recommended. Overdosing pueraria mirifica may increase bloodflow and interrupt your sleep."

I have never heard of any of that before now. Everything I have read offers no source of information, and seem to always qualify their remarks with "if taken for too long" or "if taken too much."
I am more of a fenugreek fan anyway, but if this is a concern, don't take PM. The stress, whether the problems are real or not, will hinder your progress. I think that if one takes a moderate amount for a moderate time, and keeps up with liver cleanses, should be OK. But if one already has a predisposition for any of those problems, it might be a good idea to avoid it while researching further into whether the claims are valid or not.

Thanks Wahaika! I have a cardiology appointment next week so I will ask my doctor about it...though she doesn't necessarily have to know about PM. I'll let you know what she says. I'd really like to give PM a shot but if it's better I don't then of course I'll turn to other methods. I'll see next week. Thanks again for your help!
