Chart'-
Just keep on the vanilla eo therapy. You'll find peace for whatever decision you make. IMHO..this sounds like you have some residual previous life experiences to trump and learn and work through for this life. You can do the vanilla around your fiance..and it won't affect him.
Let us know how it goes after this weekend.

char! I'm only 17 years old but iv'e been dating my bf for about 3 years now and i love him to death but when we talk about getting married it really makes me worry/think. I'm a really optimistic person though so as much as i am afraid of changes, i realize that it could be an incredible life changing experience in a posative way. it's worth doing becuase you can always undo it. however you could go the rest of your life regretting not marrying him. if you know you love eachother then everything can be worked out and everything will fall in to place the way that its meant to

I don't agree with the whole idea that you 'can always undo it' with marriage unless there's a good reason. It shouldn't be something you just give a try to. I think when you marry someone you should be ready and willing to spend the rest of your life with them. I know there's been a few times that I had considered divorce-I've had a hard marriage. But I'm glad I didn't. Things are alot better now and just keep getting better. When you get married, you are combining 2 lives into 1 and it takes some adjustment time but it's worth it. If you go into a marriage with that attitude that it can be undone your just setting yourself up for a divorce and not going to put the kind of work into a marriage that is needed. My 2 cents

Well...I'd like to put my 2 cents in too, even if it means that people won't talk with me anymore. Its something that I'm learning to understand.
I am a Christian who follows the truths of Christ and the Bible. I am NOT just a person who says they are a Christian and then does not live according to the things that I'm putting forth, just for a heads up because there are many people in this world who tell you they are christian but do not follow the Word of God.
In the Bible, God tells us that marriage is the joining of two people becoming one flesh. When you get married, as a Christian or not- you're coming together in the eyes of God as one flesh, that NO man should separate. I believe in Sin, and that we are sinful people in need of the truth of Christ and to repent of our sinful lives.
You cannot "undo marriage" because then you would be commiting adultry, and breaking the laws of a perfect and righteous judge, who one day we will stand before accountable of our lives. The world would love for you to believe that you can just undo anything because it is all about "instant gratification." That is a lie from the devil who is the ruler of this world. I may sound like some radical fairy teller, but this is all true!
Premarital sex is also a sin, and God, through Christ, has ordained marriage as a sacred and holy union. it would be better for you to be married.
I know many people won't agree with these statements, but then again many people don't know what the Bible teaches, the truth of CHrist. Just know, that it's out of a loving care for not just you as a person, but as an eternal soul who will be held accoutable....
Christ came to this world and lived a perfectly holy life, though he was tempted by sin. Since He lived holy and undefiled to this world, God had Him die on the cross to bear the burden of the sin of man- and to grant salvation only to those who would believe. He died in our place! But only if you understand that we are sinful, and repent of our sin....then we can ask Jesus Christ to come into our hearts and renew us for the sake of the Gospel. Jesus then rose on the third day to show His VICTORY over death and sin, so we too- can have vistory over the lies of this entertaining media filled world- He is merciful.
"...because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
