Hello everyone,
I've tried BE on an off but with not much results as I travel a lot and usually have my routine disrupted. Recently, I decided to try again, with only fenugreek and Omega 3 supplements (for skin).
In the past I experience occasional midcycle spotting, usually around day 10-14 of my cycle. It is characterised my brownish/ reddish brown discharge and usually lasts about 3 days. Pantiliners are sufficient to avoid 'accident's.
I am wondering if my spotting is an indicater of an underlying problem, unstable hormones. A few times when i started phytoestrogens, I seem to 'definitely' have spotting that month, and with slightly more profuse amount.
Any opinions? I am worried and wonder if I really should take up BE. I've researched on the net in the past that some women (not on birth control pills) experience mid-cycle spotting and it is an indicator of ovulation. But not much information can be gleaned on the amount, duration of spotting etc so I am not sure if it's a normal thing for my body or something else.
The gynaes that I've seen have not been of much help.I do experience moderately painful periods every cycle. Am not on birth control pills.
Another question, does BE using herbs aggravate endometriosis? I read that a board member had endo and it was aggravated by BO, so I am not going to try BO.
Thank you so much for your responses/opinion,
Maya

It was probably the fenugreek throwing your cycle off. However, it also takes people a few cycles to adjust to BE. Personally, I'd try another herb like red clover, fennel, or anything else. I don't believe your cycle has to be thrown that far off to have BE progress.

Do you HAVE endo? In that case, you might find that your previous routines aggravated it and started the spotting.

Also, for your case only- totally consider doing a liver cleanse and using USP progesterone cream for one week before you're typically due to menstruate. Seems like you are too estrogen dominant for health NBE.
