I've been doing an excersise dvd for a month or two now and it is supposed to help you tone up. So far i havnt noticed any changes . I have changed my eating habits to more healthy ones but i dont seem any more toned . Can anyone reccommend any excerises that actully work?

Try dowsing which type of excercises you need and that will narrow the field so more concrete suggestions can be offered that will work for you. High impact aerobics low impact aerobics lite weight-lifting intense weight-lifting diet changes (more protein, less protein, more fiber, less fiber, etc.) Wen'

Pilates - tried and true. Its worth forking over the money for classes because once you become good (which can take some time and patience) it becomes quite enjoyable and you can do it at home. It's highly recommended for its "core strengthening" which is essential for good posture and because it lengthens and tones muscles which doesn't entirely make sense until you see results, but I swear it makes you look 2 inches taller.

I'm currently doing a workout on DVD called Chicometrics. I absolutely love it. I hated working out but w/ this dvd, I acutally look forward to it. It's an 1hr long and you work each part of your body, my fave are the abs and buns. Thing about this workout is that you do a bunch reps at one time. For example, you do 80 crunches, then so many of another type of crunch. You can feel the burn but you don't sweat much b/c it's super low impact. You will feel it the next day. I do it every other day and I started feeling results pretty quickly...especially the upper arms. www.chicometrics.comYou can find health forums thru out the net where ppl talk about ChicoMetrics. Check it out! Sorry if I sound like an infomercial but I really like this workout and think other ppl should try it out or at least look into it some more so see if they'd be interested.

Thanx some great suggestions I have thought about pilates but is it very similar to yoga? I tried yoga and found it extremely boring.

What do you have to do for then fawn? I've not seen anything for it about, like dvds or anything, only what people have said about it on here. I dont really know what you have to do for them

Callanetics - you can buy DVD's, videos, books. . . started in the 1980's so may look a bit dated. . . but I did four one-hour sessions, and my encroaching saddlebags tightened up significantly. And while it's more challenging than it looks, it's very, very good for those with lower back problems!

oh, and I also do squats while doing my daily massage (it looks really silly, I'm sure, so I make certain I do it in my room with the door closed) - it helps me with my coordination skills and helps tone my hips, thighs and butt
