Hi everyone, I got my t-tapp tapes . Today was the first day. i felt that Teresa was very fast and i had a difficut time understanding what she was saying because i did not understand soem terms like "keeping teh shoulders squared"
also i had difficult time watching her and doing at the same time.
hopefully with time i will be able to overcome these problems.
i don't even know what i am trying to do is right or wrong.

Hi Barb, Thanks . I am getting better at T-tapp and now waiting for some inch loss.
What I wonder most about t-tapp is that it is not like other convectional exercise tapes where you are doing cardio to sweat and burn lots of calories.
It is also not like other exercise where u work a set of muscle groups like biceps, triceps , hamstrings etc to tone each muscle group. it also does not tell you to exercise 1 hr a day. (I had read somewhere long ago that after you exercise for 20 minutes, you body enters into the fat burning zone and taht is when you burn fat. so you should exercise more than 20 minutes).
So I really wonder how poeple loose inches by doign t-tapp? It is very surprising?
Thanks mansi

Mansi,
Which tapes did you get?
BTW - about "fat burning" - working out for TOOOO long can actual mess you up with fat burning. Most people shouldn't work out for more than 40 minutes.
Why?
When you begin exercising intensely, after about 10 minutes - your body produces growth hormone. Also, first you will burn up blood sugar - then stored glucose in the liver - THEN you will burn body fat. (If you are low-carbing, you won't have much/any blood or liver glucose, so will go straight to fat burning.)
However, as you continue to exercise, your body produces cortisol to help meet the demands of the effort. After a certain amount of time, this cortisol level raises so high that it undoes all the benefit of the exercise. It can cause muscle wasting and fat storage. So, somewhere between 20 and 40 minutes you meet a point where you get decreased return on investment - yeah, you're burning fat, but you're ALSO burning muscle tissue up.
You are supposed to work SEVERAL muscle groups at once, you are supposed to hold your position in alignment and keep the muscles tight.
I went to a seminar to see Teresa back in February and believe me - she demonstrated how the slightest fraction on an inch in position exhausted the muscles - and it does! Holding your shoulders BACK and your shoulders straight works your back muscles. Just standing there in correct posture works your back muscles.
Most of the beginning T-Tapp work addresses the "core" - which is the system of small and large muscles that keep your spine erect and your organs aligned and in place. These are the ones that keep your posture and hold in your guts. As these muscles are worked and become stronger and denser, your metabolic rate raises. After this initial conditioning of the "core", more advanced T-Tapp work addresses improving muscle tone in legs and arms.
The balance work naturally works the back, abs and glutes.

Hi Fawn, I got the Instructional tapes 1 and 2, basic workout plus and rehabilitation level.
I am on instructional tape 1 now. Thanks for the information. I know Teresa stresses a lot on form and this worries me because even though I am trying my best, I am not sure what I am doing is exactly what she wnts us to do. Mansi

Well, that explains it.
Instructional one is a LOT easier than #2, especially if you're in half-way decent shape.
And when you do both together, it will REALLY kick your butt.
Do instructional one until you feel relatively comfortable with it (week or so) THEN add #2.
You will NOT feel it is so easy then, believe me!
