Hi everyone! Have any of you experienced headaches while taking saw palmetto? I just started taking it Thursday and have been noticing mild headaches. I just took my vitamins and herbs for the first time today (this evening) and I have had a headache all day long without even taking anything when I first woke up. I've read that I shouldn't take Aleve or Advil while taking these herbs, so what are other ways I can get rid of the headaches? Thanks a lot!

I had the same experience as you have:
when I was on one herb (FG) I didn't not have any headache then I was ramping up my 2nd herb (SP) it's the time I got my headache however while adding the 3rd herb (YW) my headache all gone and I don't know why???
Some suggested me to take SP after meals then you won't have headache. You may try it!

Connie,
Thank you for helping me. I'll have to try that. I noticed that I didn't have a headache today when I took my saw palmetto after I ate lunch. How has the Wild Yam worked for you? I was thinking about adding a cream in addition to taking the saw palmetto, fenugreek and fennel.

If you have other symptoms, you might be a bit estrogen dominant. WY might have alleviated your headache due to its progesteronic component.

Hi, phaig: I think kittygurl is right! I really don't know how WY works for me, it just works!!!  As to Booby Batter, I like Fennel extract than FG extract which makes me stinky all the time.  connie |

Black cohosh extract is really good as a topical, imo. If you have some around, it's worth a try.

Thank goodness saw palmetto didnt give me headaches. With 2 babes running around screaming all day I'm not so sure I could have handled the headaches. lol.

I started Saw Palmetto 6 days ago for my seemingly hormonal acne as a suggestion by my aesthetician.
I can't believe the difference it made in such a short time. I am taking a 450mg dose 3 times a day. I am waiting for what was there to clear up, but I have not had any new flare ups!
Although I noticed that I am waking up with a headache, seemingly after my before bed dose. I did take Aleve and it went away, I have never heard that you cannot take headache medicine on herbs.
I took again this morning, after breakfast and no headache, so I will be sure to take after eating from now on.

Hi guys, I have never heard about it. Even though there may be many reasons of headaches but it’s important to consult an expert before taking any other pills as it becomes addiction and then people go for addiction counseling Virginia. Be careful about it. |
