im dont really want to go into why i am interested in this vitamin but i will tell you that i am suppose to take high dosages of it but im afraid. i was told that high dosages can destory the liver but i also heard from a seperate source that its water soluable its hard to overdose; you just urinate the excess. anyways i want to know the highest i can go safely. i read that people can take dosages as high as 18000mg a day but im not about to push my luck with even 1/2 that.

It sort of depends on what you're taking that much for. But I take up to 8000 per day when I'm fighting a bad sinus infection, but I've never done more than 4-5k per day on a regular basis.

Honeebee, I routinely take 2000gms or more depending on how I feel. When I feel a flu/cold onset, I take 8000gm or more over 24 hours. This works for me everytime.
One thing I will say is that this together with topical Vit C use (face) has improved my skin substantially. But you are too young to worry about that!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies for the replies. they really help. my worries were also about stomach and bowl irritation. i read that high dosages of Vit C but i may just start low (2000mg) and work my way up.
