I was taking the herbs for a grand total of about 3 weeks.. and noticed a huge decrease in energy.. and I started to faint out of nowhere.. been to the doctors for several bloodtests and my T3 is quite high.. Hypothyroid. never been like this before, never had any problems.. I've since missed a period.. never missed a period before, ever.. been through much stress before and it's never affected my periods, and I am not pregnant. I'm very worried.. I know that hormonal medications can alter periods but is this normal? has this happened before? I find it a little suspect that all this happens now.. I've since come off the herbs, but I really would like to keep trying, I just don't know if I am doing my body any harm, and if I should tell my doctor I was taking these herbs for the first time in the time my period stopped. please help, if you have any suggestions or can put my mind @ ease at all..

Hi Fade,
Many women here have had (very) late periods because of herbs. Changes in hormonal balance cause this. My suggestion is to drop the herbs until your period starts. Don't take wild yam or red clover during the period. (I just noticed you've already dropped the herbs)
Also Saw Palmetto has caused dizziness to me. In higher doses though.
Fenugreek has cause dizziness before and alters the blood pressure. Because you're so thin, you could try taking fennel instead. Did you ramp your herbs up? You'll need to ramp up slowly.
I don't know about Hypothyroid. You can have a search for 700 days about that on the board. I know there's been some threads about it and how it affects BE.
You can tell your doctor about the herbs just to be on the safe side. My doctor knows i'm taking boobie growing herbs.
Make sure you eat a full balanced diet to keep the blood sugar... on good levels and wait until your period. And remember that when a woman panics about the period, it takes a bit longer to start. At least mine does.
Have your hypothyroid checked first and do the search for it here. When you start again, start reeeeeeally slowly by ramping the herbs up one by one so your body gets used to them.
Anyone else has something to add?
Hope this helps. Satu

Hello Satu,
Thankyou for taking the time to answer my questions, I have since started my period, and I feel so relieved! wonder if this could possibly happen again in the future if I continue to use the herbs.. (?)
I did ramp up very slowly all the herbs, however FG seems to have adverse affects on me, and I will probably cut it from my routine, when I start it again, as I felt noticably less tired whenever I ramped back off it again.
Thanks again for your words,
Take care, Fade.

Hi Fade,
No problem. I noticed there's another thread about Fenugreek etc and periods in the General section. Have a look at that. Wahaika's given some good advice.
If you feel FG isn't right for you, you can change it for fennel. Some say fennel has less side effects. Make sure you don't take too much SP. It makes me tired. I take only 1350mg per day with no side effect and the best growth. I grow at the moment almost 1/2 inch per month.
I'm having the next month off herbs though as i need my first long break. But I'm still expecting to grow a little this month and more next one.

Fenugreek can also cause a dro in blood sugar, which can cause fainting. I can't use it either. You can use fennel instead, or red clover or pueraria mirifica.
