I'm gonna try electrolysis for my chin hair ,I think it's the greatest timing for me,now that my testosterone levels are low coz of BE. Months ago someone suggested that I should apply fennel extract on my chin after every session coz it would help.I got fennel oil and I was wondering if I could use it ,does anyone know if this could work?

Shakira, why electrolysis? Why not laser? I have had really good luck with it...but you need to go somewhere with a range of machines to use the right one for your skin/hair.

I've heard that many people didn't have permanent results with laser while electrolusis is the most reliable and the results are always permanent.Plus a beautician is very close to the place I work and it's easy for me to go to her once a month.Have you heard anything about fennel oil and if it helps?

no, sorry, have heard about using SP topically (for hair reduction) though...there was a thread about it here somewhere.

this was the thread.....so I guess you could buy an extracted product or open capsules (mine have oil and sp in them, so would work... ) beboard.proboards107.com/index.cgi?board=NonBE&action=display&thread=1141501104when I had electrolysis it hurt like hell, and left little pimples. which turned to kind of little "holes" in my skin. Many years later they are gone. It may have improved. I haven't had laser on my face, but on my legs, underarms, bikini it has cut the growth down by maybe 60% over 3 sessions. Here in Australia, its getting quite cheap. rebecca

It's not cheap in Greece, that's for sure! I know electrolysis hurts,I had 3 sessions last year but the place closed down so I stopped. Now it's the best time to start again I think. Thanx for posting the thread,I'll check it out now!
*after reading the thread* It doesn't say how to apply SP topically,do you know how?

Just thought I'd add my two cents on my experience with laser hair removal: it's been a mixed blessing. Firstly, it's EXPENSIVE. Secondly, it DOES hurt, especially in sensitive areas, no matter what anyone tells you. I get past these issues by telling myself that yes, it may be expensive, but the amount of money I've spent on other methods of hair removal (shaving, waxing, depilatories, lotions to retard hair growth) in years past - and that I will likely continue to spend - will far outstrip what I spend on LHR. Also, I consider my time to be valuable. . . I used to spend so much time on hair removal, it was ridiculous. I figure I'm saving my sanity and money by spending more now. As far as the pain. . . well, the nurse or whoever is doing the laser can usually give you an ice pack to numb the area. Sometimes they give me a topical anesthetic i.e. benzocaine to use a half hour before my next appointment. That also helps quite a bit. Thirdly, I am hairy. No doubt about it. I used to wax off sideburns (among other places), but the areas became inflamed and subsequently had post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, which did not look nice on my face. Since lasering, I have stopped waxing there, and now - finally - after a year of not touching the place with anything but the laser, the hyperpigmentation is starting to fade (usually takes 12-18 months, can use a skin lightening cream containing hydroquinone to help it along). I'm planning on eventually lasering my lower legs - it'll be expensive, but the thought of not having to worry about it ever again. . . Also, on some people the hair is more stubborn (case in point: me). It took me 6 treatments on sideburns to really get rid of them. Now when I go in for other areas the nurse will zap strays if she sees them. Anyway, I'll stop rambling now. This is probably more than any of you ever wanted to know. Hair removal is something that is near and dear to my heart , so I thought I'd chime in. Any further questions, feel free to ask/PM if you'd like. Peachy

Wow Peachy, expensive AND painfull?I don't think I can do it!It seems you had a hard time,I don't think this is for me!I'm happy that you had the results you wanted,I wish I had the money and strength to do it but I don't so I'm sticking to electrolysis. So,anyone knows if the fennel oil would help?
