I've read these articles before,these and many others that are inconclusive,but did you notice that they're talking for tiny daily intake,such as 50-80mg?And I've read maaaaaaaany more that say that high dosages (such the ones we take)are linked to cancer. Shakira, This is very interesting to me. Could you provide some of the maaaany more links that say high dosages such as the ones BE'ers take are linked to cancer? I have been researching BE for a long time and, with exception to soy, have never run across anything like that. In fact, my findings have been quite the opposite. I will also start searching again and will post what I come up with. I look forward to reading your links. Thanks! Wahaika

Well,it would take me hours to find again and write down all the names of the sites but an easy way to find them is to write "phytoestrogen+cancer" or "phytoestrogen+breast cancer" in the google box,you'll find hudrends of articles and reports about it.Some of them are inconclusive and say that we don't know yet if -great intake of-herbs cause cancer or not but most of them advice not to take this risk coz since they can promote breast tissue to form then they can promote cancer too.I hate it coz I was really happy before I read all this,now I wish I didn't know .Unfortunately I can't turn my back on this,I'll keep searching and searching and I really hope all these accusations are false.Let me know of what you think when you're done reading!

Are those articles talking about soy phytoestrogen? because I think that is a different issue than what we are taking.

That is what I suspect. I wanted to see the articles so that I could see what Shakira was referring to. I am guessing that they referred to soy.

Nope,I searched only about phytoestrogens except soy isoflavons-used to take those but I quit coz I found they're even worse.I searched about anything but S.I.

Wahaika So what is the difference between soy and the phytoestrogen's we are taking mainly from Fennel, FG and Co? I don't know what the difference is. I have just noticed that a lot of the focus on cancer and phytoestrogens seems to be mixed when it comes to soy.

There DO seem to be some cautions in regards to soy foods and both breast and prostate cancer.
As for other phytoestrogens there isn't much data to be had. People who traditionally eat a lot of phytoestrogenic foods (i.e. fenugreek) don't have an increased risk of cancer.
People who traditionally eat a lot of soy also don't have an increased risk of cancer.
This could be because:
a. They also consume a lot of green tea, which helps prevent cancer
b. They also eat FERMENTED soy, which seems to help prevent cancer as well.
Your body actually produces "cancerous" cells all the time. Generally, however, your immune system is able to kill them off before they take root and spread.
Actually, cancer risk can be increased at any time there is a growth spurt and rapid cellular replication. When it happens in conjunction with exposure to carcinogens, it's increased. And it's partially genetic as well.
There are a number of things you can do to severely reduce your chances of breast cancer, if you do NBE or even if you don't.
1. Avoid chemical birth control methods & HRT.
2. Avoid UNFERMENTED soy products - stick to tempeh, tofu, and fermented soy powders.
3. Melatonin is probably the most important and effective supplement there is against breast cancer.
4. AVOID sugar and highly processed starches. Cancer cells ONLY eat glucose - they can not subsist on fatty acids like healthy cells.
5. Skin brush lymph glands and go braless when possible to improve lymph drainage.
6. Liver cleanse. The liver is responsible for converting powerful (and potentially dangerous) estradiol into benign estrone. Keeping your liver clean and functioning will improve it's ability to do so.
7. Progesterone therapy. Progesterone is not only protective of excess estrogen but increases bone mass in aging.
8. AVOID polyunsaturated oils. I don't care what the food industry says! Canola oil is NOT food. They reason they sell it in bottles to people is because they can no longer sell it to the paint industry since the invention of acrylic paints. Polyunsaturated oils oxidize at lower temperatures (plant oils are structure they way they are to help the plant survive freezing temeraptures). They throw off free radicals which damage the DNA in your cells until they are picked up by an antioxidant. The healthiest oils for human consumption are fish oils, butter, animal fat (from grass fed animals), coconut oils and olive oils.
It's important to break from an NBE routine to recover from any nutritional deficiencies, give your body a break from growth and to "detox" a little. After all, children and teens grow and develop in 'spurts' - it's a natural cycle that should be respected.

I already try to avoid things like that and I hope it helps.I'm thinking about having a liver cleanse too,I'do whatever it takes to keep my self as healthy as I can so I'll have a strong immune system.I keep my fingers crossed!
