From: Mominator5 Sent: 9/20/2003 6:36 PM Hi Charlie, Yeah, I thought the same thing...how could I be both...but once I thought it through, it makes sense. It means your progesterone is WAAAAAAAAAY Low, so estrogen is dominant over the progesterone, when it should be about even in relatively even in week 4. So...the fact we are both "low" estrogen, does not mean we cannot be estrogen dominant. I hope that's a clearer explaination...took me a while to understand that, dang fenugreek! How did you test for androgens on Dr. Lee's test? Since I don't really like that part of this test...but I do like the rest. Yes, you cannot be kickin' b/f out of the room for breathing! So progesterone for you is a very good idea. Yeah, I think pregnenolone might be the wise choice, since it does convert, just watch for the warning signs...especially more dark unwanted hair. Again...somehow it's gotten to be a misconception that we do not want any progesterone in our bodies...not the case. Just noted that the successes tended to be "low progesterone", and since we are mimicing puberty, where progesterone production is spotty at best, we want to achieve that. groups.msn.com/BEBoard/general.msnw?action=get_message&mview=0&ID_Message=11104&LastModified=4675437959729070373 see if that helps ya' a bit! Another great thread by own FAWN! And I believe it would be okay to add a pr blocker like R/C topically only! With your boobie batter! Do not add any pr blockers internally....you want to build your progesterone up a bit! (helps b/f stay in room). Bust of Luck Charlie Momi'

SYMPTOM GROUP 4 Estrogen dominance: This is caused when you don't have enough progesterone to balance the effects of estrogen. Thus, you can have low estrogen but if you have even lower progesterone, you can have symptoms of estrogen dominance. Many women between the ages of 40 and 50 suffer from estrogen dominance. (May 1998, page 6). from Dr. Lee's site! Guess my guess was right! Momi'

I'm never too sure about these tests - for example, yes, I'm occasionally insomniac, but I think it's as much to do with stress as with hormones, low libido, but I've had a lot of emotional/sexual problems over the last few years! But I've come out at - androgen deficient excess estrogen progesterone deficient I think my programme's completely wrong, but I'm sooooo confused now.... Keep changing it & feel like I should just let it settle down! What should I be on, if that's my profile? aprilbabe

Hi April, Can you post your routine? You are right...stick what you are doing for at least 3 mos, but...you can always tweak! Momi'

Hi Momi, I've been doing this for nearly 4 months now. I started over on the Greenbush site, so I was taking what Tere was taking (in a it-worked-for-her-it'll-work-for-me sort of way): roughly 3000 mg each of fenugreek, wild yam, saw palmetto and red clover. Also massaging with fennel extract, drinking lots of fennel tea. In the first 6 weeks, my usual luteal swelling occurred - but it stayed on after AF, so I was delighted. Then... I got impatient.... and I got confused. So over the last coupla months I've dropped wild yam and upped my saw palmetto. Last cycle I had no wild yam at all, and for the first time ever, no pre-menstrual swelling or soreness. So I added damiana, and this month I've swollen a bit again (AF due tomorrow). So now I'm taking 3000 fenugreek 4000 saw palmetto (becuase I read somewhere to keep upping it until you tingle - no tingles yet) 2800 red clover 1800 damiana I know it's early days, especially since I'm very small to start with & everyone seems to agree that if you're under an A-cup it'll take longer... I'm fuller than I was (especially on top) but my measurements haven't changed at all. I'm not sure now why I gave up on the wild yam - should I go back to it? And I know my phyto-estrogens are very high, but I'm worried they won't work at all if I start ramping down.... And I think this is probably too much SP as well..... Oh dear, confused, bothered & bewildered. Sorry to be dumb! Any thoughts on tweaking much appreciated.... Aprilbabe

Hi April, From your "test" results, again, definitely not scientific here...but I have the same results. If you are not aware I am on break, but when I dropped everything on Day 1 of cycle, I started getting tingles! I have had some growth prolly from the excess stored somewhere in my body, plus I am on progesterone so those floppy glands are restoring. 3g of phyto-estrogen leaves you basically no tweaking room at all. You are also on too much progesterone blockers & possibly SP. On Day 1 of your next cycle drop down your fenugreek to 1.5g (or close), drop the Red Clover to 1.5g, damiana I would leave out completely(for now), drop down the SP to 2g-3g, and add 1.5 Wild Yam back in. So...the new routine would look like this 1.5g fenugreek 1.5g Wild Yam 1.5g Red Clover 2-3g SP That should start feeling some tingles at least. The reason I am suggesting dropping on Day 1 of your cycle is your estrogen and progesterone are lowest on that Day, that's what starts menses, so your body will just assume, it's a normal droppage. And allow your body to build on the new routine. Wild Yam is a very effective BE herb, I have read on many non-BE sites "warnings" that Wild Yam may cause breast increase(I like that warning). So...yeah, definitely add it back in! Since you are naturally (I think) low progesterone, you may want to do the 3 months on....1 month off. Let your body rebuild the progesterone, also consider using progesterone cream during your 1 month break. Sound like a good plan to you! Don't tweak for at least 1 full cycle, after you made these changes. And don't forget the boobie batter, massaging is a big plus to BE, which I see from your routine you do. You can continue the tea's, maybe cut down a bit, we don't too much phyto-estrogen. Keep us "abreast" of any new "developments". Bust of Luck Momi'

Hi Momi - well AF has just arrived for her visit, so I'll take Day 1 as today! That definitely sounds good, and I'll stick to it this time- no more tweaking for a while. Thank you, and I'll let you know how it goes aprilbabe

Hey April, Talk about timing! That's too cool, usually when you are ready to change, you have to wait for one reason or another...you get to start immediately! Here's to tingles! Momi'
