Dear Fawn , I hope you're doing well Could you tell me what herb is better at blocking progesterone. Damiana leaf or Red Clover? I added Damiana leaf to my BE regimen 3 days ago. Of course, I haven't seen any results yet. Thank you for your time! Marie

Marie - Don't know which is better - just that both show high affinity for progesterone receptors. Red clover works as both an estrogen agonist and progesterone antagonist. Damiana only contains a progesterone antagonist. Since progesterone is only produced in high amounts during the luteal phase, you would only need to take a progesterone antagonist during that time. fawn

...however, red clover's not a good idea to use with BO..(a la Fawn). Damiana is fine, however, should be used during luteal phase, only.

No - don't use red clover with BO - just ONE form of estrogen per customer. fawn

Ok! Got it! Since I'm using BO, it's better for me to use Damiana then Huh... Just have another question... Kind of stupid actually, but could you tell me what days of the cycle pertain to the luteal phase? I don't really get that part... Sorry Thanks Fawn! Marie

Marie, Luteal Phase refers to the time period of the day after ovulation and runs through the remainder of your cycle. It is usually 12 - 16 days long. After ovulation progesterone production increases and bodily temps too, preparing the woman's body for incuabation of a fertilized egg. The first part of your cycle from the start of menses to ovultion is referred to as the follicular phase. Hope that helps. Nanette
