I agree with you in that genetics play a role, but it's not the only factor for things. Point in case being, how many 'fat' people have you seen with toothpick legs? Those folks it's easy to see how they probably genetically would be thinner, but due to outside factors (diet, etc), they now sport and unhealthy weight.
Aprilbabe,
I think it took me about a 'year' to get what boobies I did...and they pretty much didn't change even thru collge years (been out five). With the rate of things right now, I'm looking at about 9mos on my 'tweeked' regime before I get to where I want.
Mommabean,
I have a "EE" sister who only ate chips and dip growing up, little veggies, and most meats. She's only 5'2". My other 2 sisters @ 5'3", one's a "D", the other is closer like me, but still bigger (at least she was b4 NBE). I am the smallest and tallest @ 5'7".
My general feel is that genetics can play a role, it's what we do with the rest that really matters.

Reply to : mommabean -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Reply to : mominatorIf it JUST genes, then why did the successes on this board, respond to the herbs/BO? There has to more to it. If it was just genes, those successes would have had BIG Boobs to begin with and not in need of BE.There seems to be much more to it, I think Hippychick is on the right track. I think there is quite possibly something that could have caused a delay or retarded growth. I also wonder the following:Foods eaten during pubertyLifestyle during puberty (was someone obsessed with boobage, upsetting family life, a sudden move)GeneticsPersonality type-Mommabean you said your 2nd daughter is getting quite large, your oldest is small...it has been studied that usually the 1st born is typicaActually my older daughter is very relaxed and easy going. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi Mommabean, That's exactly what I was trying to convey...just didn't come out right! (yes I will blame a fenugreek flashback.) It seems to me the ones who really do not want to develop tend to be HUGE, the ones who want big boobs do not! I have noticed a lot of tom boys, remember I drive kids from pre-school through High School, some of them all of the their school years, the tom boys tend to be chestier. There is also another obvservation I've made, but it not politically correct...so...excuse me, but I also noticed the "mentally" challenged tend (not all cases) tend to larger breasted also. So...is it genetics....is it mind set....is it puberty stress level? OR ALL OF THE ABOVE! Ouch my head! So in essence that is what I was trying to point out with "personality". Not to say birth order is a definitive theory. Momi'

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My idea regarding the puberty topic is that if we can think back to the time we started to develop till the time we finished - what was happening with our bodies? How were your periods? How much stress was in your life? Did you really want to develop breasts and become a woman or stay a little girl?On key may be to talk to some senior ladies - some that are small breasted and some that are large breasted.Of course I believe it goes without saying that we were not all meant to have E cups, however it maybe that something during your puberty halted your full breast development. From the time I started my period at age 12 until 16 when I started the BCP I had extremely bad periods and I do mean extremely bad (weeks sometimes with very heavy flows). I remember at age 16 being so thin and no one believing that I coul --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay Hippychick you asked for it!
I outlined in a previous post, that I had a very stressful puberty, with parents being ill. We also had a rash of natural disasters! House fire (my room was toasted), tornado's hitting the house, close family members death. I am a the oldest, and the oldest do tend to take on family matters much more so than younger siblings. With both parents being ill, I had a lot of responsibility I put on myself.
I started my period late, I was about 15, I think I started developing breasts in about 8th grade, so that's...about 13. My periods were up and down. However, I did have my first "cysts" attack at about 14, I had just gotten my first period. When I was about 20, I was not getting regular periods at all for about 6 mos, the doctor did a 24 hour urinalysis and discoverd I was out of progesterone. I took 5 pills. All better. I also had trouble getting pregnant with 1st, again given 5 progesterone pills...waaalaaa, got pregnant. So my low progesterone seems to be a natural thing for my body.
Sister...chesty of course! She's the 2nd child, 11 mos younger than me. A tom boy to the hilt. (we've since changed "roles") My Mom was a 36 c/d, a large "c". My sister is a 38c, both tended to be heavy, so I always felt "I would rather be flat than fat!" So me thinkin' my BROTHERS got the boobs I was suppose to have!
I wanted BIG BOOBS when I was very little! I remember my parents making fun of me, cuz I was a very tiny, skinny girl and knowing I would not get them. My sister could have cared less! If you didn't guess by now...I tend to be a Type "A" personality!

I remember in high school how girls would come back from summer vacation a cup size bigger, and I've heard a lot of stories about growth spurts, so I don't think it actually takes all that long. For us it should take longer because, being physically older, our bodies are not prepared to respond to these kind of hormonal changes.
I got my period just before I turned 12, and was starting to grow boobs around that time. By the time I was 13, I had reached my final height and boob size (34AA) - very short growth period, though I don't know why. I was always so excited about turning into a "woman" and happily mystified by all these changes... and really miffed when I never got my boobs. But I always expected that they would grow, eventually. Then I got to high school and I was like, it's been 3 years and no growth, what if it never happens? and so I spent the next 3 years obsessing about it. I was really chubby at 12, but I lost 15 pounds by 14 and was suddenly quite skinny, though it took me a while to realize it. I hated so much that guys called me skinny (though 2 years ago I would have given anything for that!) because I was actually thicker in the hips and legs than so many other girls, the only difference was that my boobs were tiny, making me look skinny. I had a boyfreind alwasy bugging me to gain weight so that my chest would be larger. And yes, it will always drive me crazy that there are 13 year olds everywhere who look more womanly than me! Of all the things that bug me about being flat-chested, that for some reason is the worst! I ate moderately healthy food and I never starved myself. My mom is a C, but a lot of the women on my dad's side of the family are small or medium sized on top. I don't have any sisters to compare with, but all my cousins are quite large, at least C's and D's.
That's so funny, but you're right, there are a lot of tomboys out there with large chests... but I'm sure there are many smaller ones too, we just don't notice because it doesn't look as weird. momi' - I work at a psychiatric hospital and I'm pretty sure there are all different boob sizes, though I've never really looked because it's the one place on the planet where no one is wearing revealing clothes! Also, many of the women are overweight so it's harder to judge what their boob size would be if they were at a healthier weight
There's a lot of factors which can have overlapping influences, that's why it's hard to trace a pattern with one single factor. I guess we just have to really look at ourselves and work on every facet of this that we can find!
