From: SandraN8 (Original Message) Sent: 7/19/2003 6:18 PM Hi Fawn, I posted this to NBE board, but till want your opinion: I tried SBS system 7-8 months ago, but I experienced some allergic reactions... or it was because I have hypoglycemia so the fenugreek made me feel the way I did. OK, I'll never try it again, but I've decided to try SP berries and EPO massages as well. What do you think- do I have to add something else to this or any other suggestion? P.S. Thyroid hormone levels - checked up a month ago-normal levels. My temperature is very close and more often is 98.6 actually. Cycles-very regular-28days, bleeding-5days, no PMS. Libido? Hmm...good, esspecially at the middle of the cycle. I can say that I had better libido before I gave birth to my daughter, not just at the ovulation time, but all the time. A problem that makes me think that I have some hormonal imbalance at the moment are acne on my forehead-I got them 8-9months ago. I had very clear face, even during the puberty and now this? My breasts didn't got any bigger during my pregnancy-only when breastfeeding-2 cup sizes the first day and then went down to not even full cup size bigger than my pre-preggnancy size-which is 32AA. Hope to hear from you soon, Sandra

From: fawnmarie42 Sent: 7/19/2003 9:38 PM Sandra, Fenugreek is really hard on women with hypoglycemia - I can't remember having felt so awful all the time, and I only used it for 2 weeks. Weepy, hungry, tired, shaky, jealous, bitchy. Ugh. SP is great - you can titrate up to 3,000 mgs (should help the acne too) at first and see how it goes. You may also want to use one of the other phytoestrogenic herbs - red clover, fennel, kudzu. I have red clover & fennel for sale on the site - or look around - even try Walmart. During the luteal phase, you may want to try a progesterone blocker like damiana - however, if you are using red clover, you won't need it. As for temps - yep, they're good. Length of cycle doesn't really make much difference unless they're incredibly erratic and indicate a real illness or condition. Unless you are using prohormones and precursors (i.e. pregnenolone, DHEA), or have a history of high androgen levels, libidon isn't really isn't an important factor in BE. However, you may find your libido changes a great deal during the process. Something you might want to keep your eye on, just to keep your life happy and pleasant. fawn

From: Mominator5 Sent: 7/20/2003 7:55 PM Hi Sandra, I purchase their fenugreek, it does not smell. And few other herbs, l-tyrosine, EPO. Their service is good, although their shipments are not nearly as fast as Greenbush. Still very reliable. Make sure the SP are berries (or should that be "is berries")fenugreek fog! So yep, like their stuff! Thanks Mansi for the fenugreek hint, you are right it does not smell. Bust of Luck, Momi'

From: fawnmarie42 Sent: 7/22/2003 9:01 AM Sandra, I've never ordered from Puritan's Pride, but I've never heard anything bad about them. I generally have a "wholesale" source for products, since I'm in the "Industry" (as it were). Though I have purchased commercial recently when I didn't want to wait to have something shipped and recommend "Vitamin Discount Stores" if you have one in your area. They generally run their house brand of products at 50% and other brands at 25%-40% off. My general recommendation for herb use is to start with saw palmetto. (Please round these off as appropriate, as capsule potency varies around the 500 mgs mark. 1,000 mgs per day for 4 days 1,500 mgs per day for 4 days 2,000 mgs per day for 4 days 2,500 mgs per day for 4 days. 3,000 mgs per day til the end of the first month. If there are no noticeable "growing" signs, up dosage to 4,000 for month 2 If you have any symptoms of excess androgens (testosterone) like acne, chin hairs, etc, you may want to titrate directly up to 5,000 mgs during the first month. At any point you would like, you can add a phytoestrogen. Any of the following are phytoestrogens: fenugreek fennel red clover Titrate up similarly to 2,000 mgs for first month. If no signs of growth, you may want to titrate up to 3,000 mgs You can also use (damiana) progesterone blocker during the second half of your cycle. Wild yam works similarly, but I'm not familiar with the correct dosage. You will not need one if you are using red clover. I believe that 1200 - 1800 mgs per day during the luteal phase should be sufficient. fawn
