Hi Gang, I know it's been awhile ... I've been super busy with work these past few weeks and haven't had time to post. But I am happy to report that things are still growing around here.
Actually, I am a little concerned because I started spotting last night, about a week before my period. I am on the Pill and I know that can happen, but that is VERY uncommon for me.
I think this might be related to the oregano I started taking a couple weeks ago. Things seemed to be stalled, so I added 600 mg of oil of oregano extract, which should be a progesterone blocker.
If the spotting IS caused by the oregano, I am a little concerned that it could lower the effectiveness of the Pill.
Any ideas, thoughts, insights, etc. into what could be the cause of this??
Thanks! Lucy

Lucille-
I've always been on BC and doing NBE. As you know, I also used some serious oregano, but didn't have spotting probs, and of course, no jeopordizing of the BC's potency.
Since you've stalled, why not take a mini-break, and do massages or something. Seems like herbs consumption every 3-4 mos stalls out. One cycle or two weeks could help.
Good luck!

Hey Wen, Actually, when I started the oregano, I started growing again ... so I'm not sure I'm ready for a break yet. It has been exactly three months since I started, so I'll see what happens next cycle.
Any ideas on what could be causing the spotting? Maybe it's nothing, just seems a little unusual for me.
Thanks!

Hey Lucy, Well, I can't tell you for sure what that cause is but I wouldn't worry too much about it. I actually had the same problem. I started spotting last cycle out of the blue and I hadn't started taking any new herbs, although I did add Wild Yam to my routine not too long ago. Hm...to think of it, that could be it. Maybe when you start a new herb sometimes you may start spotting or something because your body is getting used to it. That's what I would think caused it. Also, I'm on BC so found it very odd that I was spotting and it is also very uncommon for me. Don't worry, I'm sure everything is okay,

Hi girls, It is recommended to always start a new herb on Day 1 of period for this very reason. Especially if you have been on BE for a while. All of your hormones are at their very lowest levels on Day 1, that's what starts your menses. So...adding or taking away, the body hopefully thinks it's adjustments within itself, instead of us intentionally messing with our hormones. Just a reminder.
