Hi, My name is Joy and I just started on BE after researching it for about a month. Stats: 25, 5'5", 110 lbs, visionary, AB+ Currently taking: Fennelgreek ~2000mg/day Saw Palmetto ~2000mg/day Wild Yam ~2000mg/day I am iffy on taking fennel since I heard that fennel oil can be toxic in certain levels. Is this true? I searched the internet and found breastfeeding sites that verified this. And it also says that at this site. www.mothernature.com/Library/Bookshelf/Books/41/21.cfm. ( 1tsp = ~1000mg right?) I saw someone post this link press2.nci.nih.gov/sciencebehind/estrogen/estrogen00.htmabout breast cancer medication. It says that estrogen causes estrogen responders in the breast and uterus' lining to make more tissue. That is beneficial for making breasts bigger, but if the uterus' lining keeps growing, it can cause endometriosis. Are there any studies that say which estrogen receptors(in the breast or utereus) each type of herb's phyto-estrogens reacts to? Are the dosages I'm taking ok for me? I found them using the dowsing method. But I feel like I'm causing my pendelum to move. Are there any other herbs I should add because I'm not taking fennel like red clover? I'm feeling some sharp pains in each breast, but haven't seen any changes. I feel it for less than a second, 2X a day. Another ? (I have so many!) My left breast is smaller than my right. Is there anything besides massage that can make them more even? Thanks a lot! Joy

Hi,
I wanted to add more info about myself to see if that affects the answers. I'm also taking birth control (norinyl). I sometimes use it contiously for 3 months so I'll only have 4 periods/year. Does that cause my horomone levels to be constantly the same? Does the montly phases women have when they have their periods not apply to me anymore? And how does that affect my BE regimen.
BTW, I'm also using a thai breast cream 2x a day with Pueraria mirifica. Does anyone have experience about if this works?
Thanks a lot! Joy

[move[glow=teal,2,300]Welcome to the Board! ;D[/glow][/move] Nice questions & research! The theory with BE and the general feeling of the board is....excess estrogen in short term is not harmful, since there are times in a female's lifetime that excess estrogen is prevelant. During nursing, puberty, etc. You will also notice that is highly recommended to take a 3 month break every 12 mos., another suggestion is 3 months on, 1 month off. To help open the receptors which can become blocked. Also remember, that herbs are "phyto-estrogens", not actual estrogen, it tricks your body into thinking you have excess & the theory is the excess TRUE estrogen goes to the breast receptors. R/C is a wonderful herb for BE, it not only has phyto-estrogen, but a progesterone blocking agent. It also helps with the fenugreek nasties, bloating, light-headedness, fuzzy head, etc. So YES add it to your regiment. Excess estrogen can aid in endometriosis. Again, reasoning for a break in BE routine. Hope that helped your questions & concerns. Ask away!
