Hey everyone! i'm quite new to this whole breast enlargement thing and have just started taking saw palmetto 1600mg twice daily, for 2 weeks now. My breasts were very very sore pretty much starting from day 4, but then i ran out and couldn't get out to buy some more until 2 days later. The soreness has calmed down a lot but i'm back on taking the 1600 mg twice daily again. I was just wondering if i am too young to start doing this? I'm 17 years old and am 5'8, slim with A cup boobs. My breasts haven't grown much so i think i have pretty much stopped growing. Could someone please suggest what other herbs i could take a long with the saw palmetto? Are the dosages im taking for saw palmetto too high? I don't really understand the whole estrogen, progesterone, thing...haha im so confused , well i hope someone could help me out it would be very much appreciated!

Hi Bubbalina There are a lot of charts showing the cycle and levels of progesterone, estrogen. The theory of this board is that progesterone blocks the estrogen receptors in the breast, which cause fat tissue to be deposited. When someone is in puberty, they do not produce much if any progesterone, therefore allowing the breast to develop. There are MANY other factors, some still unknown, some just theories, but that's the basic. Progesterone block development and estrogen increases it. You could certainly start adding some phyto-estrogens, since SP is considered helpful with BE, for blocking androgens (testosterone), also a anti-breast developement hormone. It is needed in the female body, however, it does tend to reduce development. 17...yeah, you could still grow. Although most females don't grow much once they start their period. However, some do continue to develop into very late teens. Phyto-estrogens you can add would be fenugreek, about 500g daily to start, go up slowly from there to about 1.0g. Fennel, 500g daily, same as fenugreek dosage, Red Clover, which is a phyto-estrogen as well as a progesterone blocker. Massaging! Has found to be VERY important in BE. You are trying to increase prolactin production, which at 17 should be quite easy for you. So...hopefully, I didn't make your head swim yet! It does take time to learn the lingo and way our bodies work. Have a look around, check out the charts in "BE Lingo". Welcome to the Board, and BUST OF LUCK!

Just another question ( i hope u don't mind answering ) since i have been taking the saw palmetto the little round lumps in my boobs have gotton bigger, making them much more firm and hard. Does this mean something is happening?

Bubbalina,
Lumps..already? Wow, and you're only on SP berries. Well, we're trying to help several other members grow without lumps..seems like if ur body is not able to absorb extra estrogen doses, u form lumps instead.
Just layman's understanding on the above...generally though, no, one should grow uniformly.
Generally when ur period comes, they should shrink back in size. Some women naturally have more 'lumps'. Just keep track of what's going on with your body.

Wenonae, I've always had lumps in my breasts before taking the saw palmetto, but they have just gotton bigger recently. I'm not quite sure what you mean, is it bad to have the lumps in my breasts? Does that mean i won't grow? I have my period at the moment so after it has finished i will see if they shrink. Thanx for replying

Hi Bubblina, Could you be more descriptive about the lumps in your breast? Are they in your breasts or aureola? Are they visibile? Do they disappear when you get your period? You know stuff like that.

Hey mominator, Well their in my breasts, im not sure what aureola is? Their not visible, their just in my boob haha..like if you squeeze them i can feel this round hard lump, it pretty much takes up most of my breast, if i didnt have it i dont think i would have any boobs at all. Do you have these lumps or am i abnormal haha.

Hi Bubblina, You know the breasts are made up of tissue, glands, fat, all sorts of stuff. So I am really not sure what you are feeling...but I would suggest if you have not seen a Dr, or a Dr hasn't examined these lumps, you get that done. Not that I am throwing caution....I wouldn't be too concerned, but get them checked out if you haven't. Rather be safe than sorry. Aureola...the darker area around your nipple.
