Hello. I have been "shadowing" the board for a couple months now, but never had the courage to post until now. I don't usually post to forums...too shy. Anyhow, let me tell you a little about myself (I will also post a profile to help my questions be answered). I am 27, 5'8 and very thin with a high metabolism...one of those people who can't gain weight (believe me, I've tried)... of course, to match, I also have very small breasts (between a small 32A and 32AA)...or at least I did (I'll get to that later). I first learned about BE about two years ago, and decided to try Le Femme (I live in Canada, and there aren't many BE products available). I did react to it...sore breasts, headaches and very moody... I have the exact same reaction to birth control pills no matter how low dosage they are (I have a progesterone IUD instead). Despite this, I continued using the rest of the bottle (but at a reduced dosage...didn't want to waste the money entirely) and after comparing BE product ingredients, started using Fenugreek and Saw Palmetto (much smaller dosage than any of you might use). After running out ot the Le Femme, I continued with the herbs. Last February my left breast became quite sore, and developed large fibrocystic lumps (no worries, I have had it checked, have chosen not to have them removed, and am now using a progesterone cream during the last two weeks of my cycle in hopes that it will cure it). However, it is now a full and firm 32B. Here is where my questions begin:
1. From what I have read, fibrocystic breast changes are caused by excess levels of extrogen in the body. Do you think this might have been caused by using Le Femme or having used birth control pills in the past (last used over a year ago)?
2. When I read about what changes occur while using BE, it is always mentioned that the breast can become quite sore and firm. This seems so much like my experience with a fibrocystic breast, I wonder what the difference is, or if there is some kind of relation. How different does the breast actually begin to feel?
3. Given my metabolism and inability to store fat, is it even possible for me to increase my breast size (assuming the fibrocystic nature of me breast is not related to BE)... am I just wasting my time? I wonder, because I keep on reading that these herbs can add extra tissue to the breast, which I believe could make a difference in size for someone like myself who has very little breast tissue to begin with (or at least in my smaller breast which is now half the size of the other one). I am hoping that, if there is a relation between BE and the fibrocystic breast, that my smaller breast will eventually catch up. It has begun to feel more sore/firm ouside of the luteal phase as well, which might have something to do with some changes I have made to what I am using and the quantities, or might be my imagination.
4. Due to my sensitivity to birth control pills, do you think I am Estrogen Dominant and/ progesterone deficient? I think I might also be too high in Androgens/testosterone. I have more body hair than the average female (although not excess) get occassional think black hairs on my chin (two or three), and still have a slight acne problem. I also wonder if this might affect my metabolism.
By the way, here is what I am currently using since the beginning of October of this year, and after dicovering the BE Boards:
2 x 800 mg Saw Palmetto Berry Extract 2 x per day
3 x 610 mg Fenugreek 2 x per day
3 x 575 mg Fennel 2 x per day
3 x 500 mg EPO 2 x per day
250 mg Mexican Yam Extract 2 x per day
Natural Factors PMS formula with Vitex Extract, Dandelion leaf Extract, Passionflower Extract and Dong Quai Extract when I am not mentruating
Progesterone Cream during last two weeks of cycle (for fibrocyctic breast)
Fenugreek extract and Wild Yam cream with message on smaller breast.
Thanks, and take care,
Twilightsrose
