What's the deal with vacuum cleaners these days. Back in the end of July, my hubby and I bought a vacuum to replace one we had for about 8 years. Nothing was wrong with our old one really, I just really liked the idea of the bagless ones.
So we payed $200 for a Hoover and for about a month it worked really well...until there was an electrical problem and we took it back to exchange it. Of course we thought that it was probably an isolated problem, so we got the same model again...this one lasted until about 2 weeks ago when it stopped picking anything up. The belt broke as we were taking it apart and the filter practically broke in two. Not to mention the fact that the plastic piece around the brush crumbled into pieces too.
I told hubby to take it back and just get a refund until I found something else. I wanted to look around and see what had the best ratings and more durable. Funny thing is besides the vacuum that I had, the only other highly recommended vacuum was the Dyson.
I ordered the Dyson last Wednesday and am still waiting on it to get here. It better last longer than 7 or 8 months!!!! For the amount of money these vacuums cost, you would think they would run decently and last longer than they do...I was beginning to think that I was breaking the vacuum...lol...but I think I can figure that out. I did email the Hoover company and let them know that we had many problems with their machines...they didn't seem to care though...basically told me to get it serviced, but after the year was up on the warranty(July) we would have to pay for everything ourselves...yea right!
So if anyones in the market for a new vacuum, don't buy a hoover...unless u enjoy not being able to use it!
