So I have been having some spotting for about 5 days now, and should have started my period about 4 days ago. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests ( over a period of about 5 days) and I am definitely not pregnant. I have a lot of cramping going on, but nothing is happening! Is this normal? It is frustrating cause with the spotting I feel like I have a 2 week period instead of a period that lasts for only one week. GRR...sometimes I hate being a woman.

Some things that come to mind, given your other messages about miscarriages, are:
1. Have you ever been evaluated for ovarian cysts?
2. Are you under a lot of stress?
3. Have you had bloodwork showing that you are not progesterone deficient?
4. Did you have any complications associated with your other pregnancies?

I found out after my last miscarriage that I have a blood-clotting problem...so that is what they contributed to the miscarriages. My case isn't as bad as it can get, but I guess it is just enough to cause me to lose babies. My progesterone was checked and ok'd...but that was shortly after I lost my baby, so maybe it went down since then ( ??). How do you know if you are low on progesterone? I have been going through horrible depression before my periods. It is almost freaking me out...I am usually not that down about stuff at all. I have a fibroid that they found in the last ultrasound I did. During the pregnancy it measured about 2 inches across. Could this be causing the problems? Sorry for all the info at once...just trying to figure out what's up. ( I did get my period, and it is super duper heavy and painful. I get kind of stabbing pains on my lower right side where my fibroid is. And I clot like crazy.) Fun stuff:) az

Those w/ fibroids usually have natually high estrogen levels which allow those fibroids to grow in the first place. I'll bet a ton of money that your progesterone levels are low relative to your estrogen-type levels. Personally, I'd drink a ton more water and use USP progesterone Days 18-28 of the cycle. A good multi-vitamin with iron would be great too. Clots can deplete iron levels in a woman also.
