Hi there, I'm looking into a doing a vitamin c flush and I just wanted to make sure my information is correct. I've looked into different articles and so forth and I've found that I should take a l-ascorbate form of vitamin c that is buffered with potassium, magnesium, calcium, and zinc...is this correct? I'm also a bit unclear as to how much and how often I should take the vitamin c, and as to when *exactly* I should stop taking it. Can anyone clarify that for me? Also, how long does it usually take to complete the flush? Sorry for the plethora of questions! Thank you!

Hey Forgottenthis, Well I thought I’d never heard of it and was horrified, thinking you wanted to flush out the Vit C in your body !!LOL Anyways done a quick google and know what your talking about now, it’s actually similar to something I did just before Xmas, when I first started to fell that tingly/sickly back of throat feeling and thought I had a virus or flu coming on. Anyhows, it didn’t come on, just got a cold which lasted about a week, not a bad one at all just sniffly, which for me is a miracle, it’s the first winter I can remember that I haven’t gone down with something. Anyway here’s what I know… I’m a big believer in the powers of Vit C. I usually take 1-5g of Vit C a day depending on what else I’m taking (take the higher doses when I take more of other anti-oxidents, hang overs or feeling a bit under the weather), I try to take 2-3g a day as I smoke which depletes absorption and function of Vit C. For the flush I increased to 10g of Ester C (is easier on the tummy and more easily aborbed, the same as yoiu mentioned), 1g every hour, for 4 days. I had slight diarhea but not painful. Drink lots of water. Remember my body is used to higher than normal Vit C, but then I smoke. Just found this… www.hmscrown.com/immune_C-Flush.htmland now this... curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=400, (which has got me very excited!, great another forum I’m gonna check all the time at silly times of the day! A bit of info on what I’ve found about Vit C… Unlike most Vits its Incredibly non-toxic, it is a building block for other anti-oxidents, meaning that if you take for example Vit E also, it enable’s certain reactions (anti-oxidising) in Vit E making it more powerful than if just taking Vit E alone. Same applies to other anti-oxidents (I also take Gingko everyday). From what I’ve read the “Excess Vit C & kidney stones” debate is very divided, the warning is based on a hypothesis, but in practise no-one to date has got kidney stones from excess Vit C, from what I can find, in fact contradictory to that Vit C at doses of 6g to 10g, actually prevent and eliminate stones where otherwise surgery would be needed (combine with B vits in cases of calcium oxolate stones), it also flushes out fats from the liver, and can prevent cirrhosis. Vit C is used for the treatment of liver conditions, and recommended at doses from 3g to 20g to help the liver deal with getting over viral infections such as colds. Doses of 15-100g are recommended for some Cancer patients, and very successfully. Good luck with ya flushing, let us know how you get on. L x
