Hi !
I was wondering if anyone on the board has a ganglion cyst on their wrist (or anywhere else) and if they may know of some herbs, vitamins, minerals etc. that would help.
I had an MRI on my wrist when the cyst was still in the bone, my surgeon said it was my decision if I wanted surgery; but, usually they will come back.
I already take MSM and glucosamine. My family thinks I should get the operation because it looks gross (it's twice the size of my wrist bone) and cause it causes lots of pain, especially with damp weather. I've had lots of surgery already and do not want any more unless its something life-threatening; so if anyone has any suggestions on how to heal this naturally, I'd be forever grateful.

My sister had the very same thing at the very same place. She had it drained..but it grew back. How'd she get rid of it? She fell on it...and it went down..never to return. This guy did the same thing...lol. www.drweil.com/u/QA/QA297847/The book method- cheap, fast, & natural. Wen'

I have one.
My doctor suggested the "book method". He said that so far it was the most reliable and has used it himself, and taught to him my older, wiser physicians.
He also offered surgery, where they would cut it open, drain in, then install a metal mesh over the ligaments to keep it from popping back out. This method is pretty reliable, rarely comes back because of the mesh.
I still have it.
It's gone down quite a lot but sometimes it hurts. Believe me, if there were an herb for it, I would have it on the tip of my tongue. It's a mechanical issue, and needs to be dealt with by mechanical means. I often try to push it back down under the ligaments, and yes, that hurts like a bitch, but it has gone down quite a bit.
I believe they can do a needle aspiration, which isn't techically surgery or very invasive. I may opt to try that at least once if it gets huge again.

I had a ganglion cyst on my right hand back in 1995. I first went and had it drained, the doc said there was only a 30% chance that it would stay gone. Come a couple of months later, I had to have surgery to have it removed. The surgery was no biggie, just outpatient. They just gave me a local and I was home the same day. Had to wear a splint on my arm as if my arm was broke, for a few weeks.
