About a week ago i decided to try a different shampoo/conditioner (Frutiese (sp)). The new shampoo may have nothing to do with what happened but that's all i can think of.
Anyways...so i washed my hair and when it dried i noticed that there was something on my hair. My hair looked really greasy and felt weird. So I washed my hair the next day and same thing. I'm thinking it's the new shampoo so i go and buy my usual stuff. Wash my hair and wait for my hair to dry. Same greasiness. Soooo...yesterday i decide to take a hot bath and let me hair soak for awhile. While laying in the tub, i ran my fingers thru my hair and noticed that it felt a bit waxy underwater. I end up washing my hair twice. Let my hair dry and the same thing!!! It's only on the top part of my head to about the mid back of my head. Nothing on the sides and nothing on the hair that is hanging down. I have no idea what it could be....when i touch it, there's a hint of stickiness. Any ideas how i could get this stuff out and maybe what it could be? It looks really bad and feels nasty. I asked my husband to smell it to see if that could give me a clue as to what it is but he said that it didn't smell like anything.
I'd appreciate any advice...thank you!!!

Maybe it could be the styling products you use if any. Try washing your hair with a little bit of baking soda and a clarifying shampoo. Leave it on for a few minutes (3-5) and then wash your hair as normal and condition it. That should take any residue that is on your hair off and you'll be as good as new.

I don't use any products in my hair but the stuff makes it feels like I do. Thanks for the advice! I'm going to go get the stuff today and try it out.

Sounds like the beginning of a huge case of dandruff or cradle cap (same thing). Dandruff is a basically a yeast infection of the scalp. I got the exact same thing when I was 12 - might have something to do with estrogen surges. Might actually make you more sensitive to sugar. Try: 1. Reduce sugars in diet. 2. Try a dandruff shampoo. 3. Throughly brush out the dead skin/grease/stuff. 4. Change pillowcases frequently until cleared up. 5. Try a vinegar rinse on your hair after washing. 6. If it's cold where you are and you're wearing a hat/scarf/hood, then wash the hat, switch them frequently, etc. 7. Get a tube of antifungal cream (cheap at Walmart) - NOT cortisone cream - and dot it over the infected patch before bed. Fawn
