Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows any ways to relief or prevent a blocked nose caused by allergy to dust. A close person of mine has a dust allergy which means having a blocked nose constantly when there's any dust in the house. Of course cleaning is an important thing, but if it doesn't help too much. He's taken antihistamine which helps, but one doesn't want to always be taking medicine. So if you have any suggestions, that'd be fantastic.
Thank you, Satu

Have him try Omega-3 fish oils. 1 gram three times per day.
Have him checked for polyps.

To get the best out of Omega 3 they should combine it with another powerful antioxident - Vitamin C, Ginger, Turmeric or Ginkgo, the later 3 are also good anti-inflammatory agents.

I get so sick of dealing with allergies, I HONESTLY just go for the OTC generic claritin!

Hi,
We'll give a try to Gingko and Omega 3. I was wondering if it's ok to take flax seed oil 3 times a day. It gives you about 1500mg of Omega 3 as well. Might help for hair growth as well.
Thank you all so much for your great replies!!!!! Satu

1500mg should be OK. For a grown man I would say 3000mg is better, and to use Omega-3 fish oils rather than flax. Fish oil is more bioavailable. This is an interesting website on oils: (he uses flax) www.udoerasmus.com/index_main.htmThe oils is not an immediate solution. They (the fish oils, I don't know about flax for allergies) work over time, probably by giving the tissues what they need. If they are not as dried out then there is not going to be as much inflamation. Another thing that works well for me is colloidal silver. But what I'm going to suggest is an irritating process. Get some silver solution. (they are not all created equal - this one is the best I have seen - beprepared.com/search.asp?t=ss&ss=ASAP&image1.x=11&image1.y=7Get a dropper and have him lay flat in bed with no pillow, head arched up. Drop about 1/2 tsp into his nostrils which will go immediately down to the sinus wall. Then, when he has all of it in (holding it in is an art form) have him arch forward (up - toward the headboard) which will have the effect of the solution going "up" higher into the sinus cavity. He may feel it burn. Stay in that position until it stops burning or for 5 or 10 minutes, then expel it. It's 10 minutes of misery, especially if he has a sinus infection, but it works for me. You have to do it two or three times per day for infections. Hope this helps, Wahaika

Thank you Wahaika!
I was asking about flax seed as we first of all already have it and secondly it's supposed to help for hair growth as well. We'll try your suggestion about the silver solution.
Thank you so much for all the information!! Satu

Great, but do try Claritin as Fawn suggested. I don't use regular Claritin, I use Claritin D but it's the best stuff ever!
