My hubby is 39 yo about 6ft - weighing in currently at almost 100kg (sorry don't know what that is in pounds). In short about 20kg overweight. He also has recently developed "mild" high blood pressure, which is being monitored. Now DH suffers from very low will power when it comes to food and also some stress eating/drinking. He would probably have 1-2 glasses red wine, most nights. In general he eats really well, salads for lunch most days and toast for brekky. Dinners are pretty good too, but I'd say he eats too much here. He really needs to exercise, but with his own business keeping him busy 12 hrs a day, and 2 young kids, not much happens. He has been on Zenical (didn't help), we did low carbs for 1 month (lost only 1 kg). Low fat, counting calories has worked in the past, but he can never keep it off. Need a radical new plan for the new year!!! His father died young (basically of obesity) and I'd like to keep him around a bit longer rebecca

Hi Rebecca, Look at the South Beach Diet online. My BF and I both tried this one and it worked well. He seemed to fare better than I overall. Based upon what you said your DH eats I'd try to get him to reverse his pattern-larger meal at breakfast, smaller at dinner first. If he can handle that then see about a more regimented approach. Good luck.

I'm low carbing again and have dropped 6 pounds in the last week.
South Beach or Protein Power might be easier for him to stick to.
