Can anyone help with ideas, for fading dark areas on my face which were caused by BC pill and pregancies. I am fair skinned caucasian. I have tried lots of fading products, currently using microdermabrasion crystals. Can't afford laser at this stage.
I don't think the problem is still occurring, but I need to get rid of the existing marks. I am now religious with my sunblock.

I have the same thing on my upper lip and my chin. I was put on Yasmin BC a few years ago. I was only on it for two months and this happened, the doctor said it would fade with time but it is still as dark as ever. I am also very light skinned on my face so it is very obvious. I've tried everything also to no avail. So if anyone has any ideas.....

Wow, my mom has this same problem...i've always wondered what it was...she has had it for years and no success getting rid of it so i am curious myself if anyone has a solution.
Hulagirl, i'm on Yasmin BC myself....wonder if the BC is what caused it. Do you get in the sun alot or did it say it was b/c of the BC??

There was another thread about this somewhere. I recall Fawn saying to use a natural bleach on the brown spots of lemon and something. It appears to be a side effect of changed hormones. Kinda rushing- maybe Fawn will respond again or maybe a search can find it..

jensin,
I don't know for sure but I know I didn't have it before I took it and then about a month into my cycle I got it. I didn't know it was the BC so I took another month before going to the doctor.

I have these spots too. The largest-on my cheek- I've had lasered off 3 times in 6 years and it keeps coming back. When I was taking herbs, I developed a pigmented "lip line" and Fawn said the same thing happened to her. She suggested lemon juice/olive oil/sugar exfoliant. I just started Yasmin 3 weeks ago. I hope it isn't going to give me more spots!

If you are the type of person who gets it (melasma) then any BC pill with reasonably high estrogen will bring it on. Is Yasmin estrogen only? I went on a low estrogen pill for a while that was ok. The high estrogen levels from BC or pregnancy will cause it (with sun exposure). Thankfully I am finished with both.
I am alarmed, that someone got it from the herbs, I was told phyto estrogens would be ok. Yikes!!!
