My husband has bursitis in his shoulder and the doctor said he needs a cortisone shot. He has had them before for his tendonitis in his elbow(he is a painter so rolling all day wears out his joints some) The thing is we don't really want him to have another shot so he took 9 grams of msm the other day and it seemed to help some. Normally he takes 2 grams per day. I am kinda afraid for him to take too muchbut on the other hand i don't want him to have another shot. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's perfectly safe stuff - he can take high doses for a couple of days, maybe a week, then he may want to ramp down. Minerals can be depleted over time, so it may be a good idea to "stock up" for a week or two on high doses - then drop back down to 1-2 grams.
I have pretty bad shoulder impingement, and when I was lucky enough to have a long talk with Teresa Tapp about it, she recommended some shoulder rolls in alignment (I think you can find them on her website) and told me to do a couple of them several times a day. Needless to say - they worked! They did more in a week than two months in physical therapy accomplished.
