This is a weird observation that may only apply to my family, but here goes....
I have 3 sisters. We are all well spaced apart. My oldest sister is 5 years older than me, and I am 10 years older than my younger sis, so of course, my older sis is 15 years older than my baby sis. Okay, that isn't the weird observation. ;D
The weird thing is that as we have looked at pictures of my mother over the years, back to the ages she was when she had each of us, we noticed a strange pattern. Each of us girls seem to have developed in adulthood to the size she was at the time that she had us. When she had my older sis, she was young, married to her high school sweetheart and barely out of her teens. She was quite thin, and petite. My oldest sister, likewise, is very petite, and has retained a girlish size even into her 40's. As for me, she was in her mid 20's when she had me, had filled out quite a bit after one child, but hovered around a size 4, but with a more womanly, curvy shape. That would be me! hehe. Then there is my baby sis who came 10 years after me as my mom entered her mid 30's. She had gained a substantial amount of weight and delayed signs of PCOS or early signs of menopause, not sure which, had begun to appear. Anyway, my baby sis as a mid 20's woman has developed to look much like my mom in size and build as my mom was at the age which she had her.
Now, obviously, there are some distinct differences between us all, especially since me and my older sis take a lot after my dad's side of the family in body shape, while my baby sis takes after my mom almost to the dime(including getting the DD's), but the coincidence is still quite interesting. I was wondering if anyone else had observed such a thing in their families or in the family of someone you know.
I'm curious about the dynamics of a woman's reproductive system and its affects on her offspring. I'm inclined to believe that the reproductive problems and birth defects that occur often in women who have late pregancies is likely a factor of long-term if not life-long water deprivation as well as diet and chemical exposure over many years. But, hey it's just a thought.
