Hi All, Break over! Starting phytos tomorrow. Here's my observation/question: Has anyone noticed increased pain during "ahem" sexual intercourse? Perhaps some of the problem can be attributed to perimenopause since that's a fairly common issue then but I haven't experienced discomfort to this extent before. Could the l'arginine be aggravating this as well? My libido is definitely low but then I also take SP which lowers it even more. I haven't used the progesterone cream yet and I know I'm low on that count as well. About the only things that are OK are my skin and weight. I lost about 3 pounds or so. Of course I will be starting the phytos and that will probably get screwed up again. OK, rant over!

Does anyone know if alfalfa would be a benefit for BE? I was going to discontinue using it until the next break.

Hey Gigi,
Fawn commented in 'Off-topics' about BE....it's not a value-add. Seems to mostly help with water retention problems.
And sorry, haven't had any of those 'things' happen as you've detailed above.
Progesterone cream seemed to do u so well...why not continue with low dosage, and have a slightly higher estrogen dosage to help get that 'ratio' correct?
Best of luck

Gigi -
Aren't you a member of the Auntie FLo has left the building department?
I.e. - haven't you hit menopause? When? How long?
I understand that painful intercourse is common after menopause, and the progesterone cream will help (and testosterone cream too). You may want to consider using it more often.
Although I think it might slow things down, I think for us 35+ ladies, we should use progesterone cream ANY way.
Alfalfa is a no-added value - and l'arginine should not cause discomfort during sex.

Hi Fawn, Yes, I'm part of the AF has left the building group just not a full fledged member-yet. According to my latest blood test, I'm officially in perimenopause. The reason why I thought I'd already gotten there was the lack of a period for several months. When I started the herbs it returned like clockwork. The month break reminded me why I needed to take them. In hindsight, I should have been using the progesterone cream regularly. Actually the l'arginine helps my arthritis and sleep. At this point I wonder what exactly the SP is doing for me since I haven't stopped taking that internally at all.

The lack of progesterone may be causing your discomfort.
