I recently heard of this stuff called laminaria extract by Nature's Way and was wondering if anyone here has ever heard of it or had success using it. Suppossedly some people have dropped over 20lbs after only a month of taking it, for others it takes 3wks before they start to lose weight. I guess it's supposed to work by tricking your thyriod gland into speeding up your metabolism, not by "thermogenics" or any of that other crap. It sounds a little too good to be true, but then again, it sounds like it might actually be doing the trick for alot of people. I'm just trying to get rid of the extra 12lbs left over from my pregnancy (almost 3yrs ago now) and eating better and exercising haven't done a thing. Apparently my soft butt and pouch are being pretty stubborn! I'm even more desparete now than I was before after trying on my new bathingsuit for my fiance and seeing his bad reaction to it (which he didn't go a very good job of hiding). I almost started crying in front of him on the spot, and I'm lucky if we even have sex like once every 6 months (which started after he found out I was pregnant). So I'm really self concious and am just very desparate to do whatever it takes to drop the extra fat!

Aww, Melissa..that sounds just AWEFUL! Several ladies have done T-Tap for toning..and it's done well. Coupled with topical applications of lipoderm and internal use of alfalfa...have done a good job of toning. Check out the Fitness section. Do know, it'll be conflicting to do both NBE and dieting. However, toning and NBE do just fine. I workout 3-4x's a week and have great progresss and am firm everywhere. Sounds like u need to mostly tone..not necessarily lose weight. Muscle takes up must less room than fat, though it weighs more..just a thought. Good luck!

Well for exercise I ride an exercise bike every morning for 25min and then use The Firm video set and work out one area (upper body, lower body, abs) twice a week. I do that because I've heard that overtraining can be counterproductive and that your mucsles need time to recover after a workout. I would think that this is a good system because it combines weight training with aerobics (Circut training). However, aside from my arms looking great, it's done nothing for the rest of me. I'm not too familiar with this liboderm though, what is it and how does it work?

Seems like you need to focus on burn excercises which focus on tummy.
Yep..long work-outs not as effective as short ones.
Fawn, T-tappers...have ya'll used excercises which really helped with the pooch prob Moms tend to have?
Lipo-derm..it's a topical thing. Haven't used it..but lots of discussions in this folder. Do a 'search' on it...or someone hop on here again.
Effects may be somewhat temporary, but..does get visible results..and with rite excercises..u can maintain it, by comments posted.

Apparently, it's just "kelp".
And it does indeed improve metabolism, in general. And if that's the cause of your weight.
You can get "kelp, b6, cider vinegar" tabs at walmart (similiar to the ingredients in the Laminaria Plus) for about $10, I think.
Having babies adds weight. What can you do? Exercise, reduce starches and sugars, etc.
None of my business, but it sounds like you guys need some marriage counseling more than you need to lose any weight. There's more going on here than you gaining 12 pounds.

As bad as I hate to say it, I have to agree with Fawn. I would try figuring out what is going on with my relationship before I would put myself out trying to please my fiance who apparently doesn't care about pleasing me. Six months is a very unusual amount of time for any man to go without "it". I know when children are involved its even more difficult to consider, but noone is worth YOUR self worth.
Ok, I'm sorry if I've upset you, I just get worked up sometimes. To answer your question about losing weight, 12 pounds is really not too much considering its from a pregnancy. Nearly all my friends had 50+ to lose, and never lost all of it. Anyway, I am going on vacation in July and have been desperate to get firm for my new bikini. I have tried everything, from the gym, running, walking, numerous workout videos( abs and buns of steel, etc), and even going hungry! The ONLY thing that works for me is Winsor Pilates Accelerated Body Sculpting. My husband is one of those that never notices anything, and within 2 weeks he was going on and on about how my butt had lifted and firmed, and was actually telling me to slow down on working out because he didn't have anything to hang on to anymore!ha. Nothing else does that for me, however if working out is hard for you you should start with the basic video. I will warn you, that Pilates is difficult and kinda boring, but the results are amazing. I also have lower back problems, and wouldn't do the modified exercises because I didn't feel like they worked as well, so I skipped two or three sections of this video and still got those results. Anyway, I hope I haven't offended you and good luck!

Ditsy me - it just occured to me that Vitamin Power carries a diet aid with the same stuff as the Laminaria Plus. The ingredients for Laminaria Plus are at www.slimming-pills.com/ingredients.htmand they are: Laminaria powder, Whey powder, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Iodine, Dicalcium Phosphate, Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, Calcium Sulphate, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Vegetable Magnesium Stearate . Plus Vitamin B-6 , Lecithin, Cider Vinegar Cost is $49.99 for 30 pills My page for the Vitamin Power product is www.botanicalbeautylab.com/kelplecithinvinegar.htmlYou probably need to take more of the Vitamin Power, but my cost for it is $5.49 for 100 tablets, and $12.99 for 250. Not sure what the difference is in the dosages, because Nature's Way isn't real up-front with it. But if you want to try the combo cheaper than $50, you can the similar from me or from another VP dealer. (Actually, I think I'll give them a shot, myself!) Shows you how much I'm paying attention!
