Fawn, do you know how much magnesium?
I've never heard of Russell Stovers - probably can't get it in the UK. I'll see if I can found something sugar free though. Thanks.

Mansi,
Are you still taking 2250 mg BO, 2000 mg SP, and 1000 mg damiana?
Prenatal vitamins? Are you on the nest?
I know there has already been some discussion on BE routines and pregnancy in another thread. The two don't go together.
I'm not trying to be nosey. Just watching out for you. Not everyone knows how this stuff can really mess things up regarding pregnancies.

Hi Wahaika, Thanks for your concern. Well I am taking prenatal vitamins just as a vitamin supplement. I am not pregnant or anything or even planning on becoming pregnant.
I had a lot of prenatal vitamins left from my last pregnancy and they are not yet expired. so i am taking them instead of buying some other vitamin supplement.
Thanks Mansi

Just out of interest (maybe for the future), how long is it recommended that someone stops BE before trying to become pregnant?

Shaz -
Sorry I did not get a chance to look up the magnesium for you. Generally, one is supposed to take enough of it every couple of hours to give you the runs, and then drop back the dosage from there.
SERIOUSLY.
However, start with 200 mgs twice a day.
As for BE herbs and pregnancy, most of them are perfectly safe and you shouldn't require any lengthy buffer time. The only one that is a definite no-no is goat's rue.
Most of the herbs are metabolized out of the system pretty quickly (which is why you need to take them several times a day, rather than just once a day). I would say that if one were planning on getting pregnant, one should stop taking them at least 2 weeks before the planned conception date. If you find yourself pregnant as a surprise, just stop taking them.
And as you might have guessed, fenugreek is safe to take while nursing. ;D

Yep, Fenugreek is Ok while nursing - in certain dosages. I would say that pregnancy is quite another story.
We had a miscarriage last year during ramp up. There are only two possible causes.
1. Herbs - at the dosages taken for BE. The miscarriage happened during rampup, so the dosages were still relatively small.
2. Age 40. (Surprize!) Our previous (seventh) child was born when she was age 38.
We had no idea she was pregnant when she started BE. It just seemed too coincidental that she miscarried while on herbs.
I have also seen some studies that were done on animal fetuses with herbs. It has been a while but as I remember, it really messed up the males. I don't remember the effect on females.

Fawn, thanks for the Mg info.
Re BE and pregnancy, does the same apply if you are taking BO rather than herbs?

No - this is relevant.
I should retract my previous statement - that the BE herbs should be discontinued before pregnancy - however, if you "accidentally" get pregnant, the ONLY thing you can do is stop as soon as you find out you are pregnant.
Also - do remember that about 25% of all pregnancies end up in miscarriage - anyway - because of a fault during conception where the DNA structures of the gametes don't arrange properly, and a proper zygote (pre-fetus) isn't formed. This is a pretty high percentage, and most of these are miscarried before pregnancy is even registered (before implantation).
So - Wahaika - DON'T beat yourself up about the miscarriage. It happens more often than we realize. and may have less to do with the BE program than you think.
But most of us need to be body-conscious enough to be aware of pregnancy at an early stage (since this whole process revolves around our menstrual cycle) and would know enough to stop immediately.
