Hi everyone, Ever since I moved to Arizona my skin has been giving me problems. My skin has become oily and the pores seems to have become large. It may be due to heat and dryness (it is like 90 degrees here and very dry weather). I am looking for soemthing that can help me tighten up the pores. Their are soooooo many products in the market. I wonder if soemone has tried something which is good and will recommend it to me. Anything commercial or homemade which is good for skin will do.
Thanks Mansi

1. betonite clay mask (couple times a week on the REALLY big pores - like around the nose).
2. Witch hazel toner. Use throughout the day if you don't wear makeup.

You only want to do an all-over mask once a week - or you skin will get too dry.
Use the mask on the trouble spots only 2 or 3 times a week. It will also pull out blackheads, if you have them.
You can save yourself a lot of money and trouble by getting a "Clay Mask" from your local drugstore. Walgreen's carries Queen Helene Mud Masque and Mint Julip mask and both have kaolin & bentonite - both are clays used for facials - and they're inexpensive. You can probably find them at whatever drug store you have in the area.
As for witch hazel, you can get that at your local drug store too. Usually in big clear bottles near the alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. It's not expensive. Just wet a cotton ball with witch hazel and wipe over your bad spots a couple times a day - shrinks the pores without drying out the skin. If you do wear makeup - just use it before putting it on and after washing it off. You can fancy up witch hazel with herbs and such, but that's not necessary. (A lot of people soak red clover flower heads in witch hazel and use as toner.)
Both together shouldn't cost you more than $5, the clay will last for a year, and you won't have to wait or pay shipping charges for it.
