Hi everyone, I have suddenly realised that I crave chocolates whenever I am on BE!!! May be because I am cutting down on tea and coffee etc, but I really crave chocolates. But they are so full of carbs, they sure will destroy my any attempt not to gain too much weight (because I anyway gain weight on BE).
I know moderation is the key to kill your craving, but I just crave for rich hot chocolate drinks and chocolate dipped fruits.
Please Help!!! (if it is possible)

I think changing hormones play havoc with magnesium levels. Not sure why or how, but I get the suspicion they do.
You may want to make sure you are taking a mineral supplement with plenty of magnesium.

Um...you're craving chocolate, and you're COMPLAINING? I think it was Dr. Duke (James Duke, wrote some stuff about BE) who said chocolate may actually be BENEFICIAL to BE. Wouldn't that be nice? But then, it has caffeine, which is contradictory to what we're trying to do. Fawn or Momi (or anyone else who knows this) can correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm doing this from memory, but I believe it stimulates dopamine, which then suppresses prolactin. Wouldn't it be nice to have a big desk reference about BE only that would tell us everything we need to know? Fawn, aren't you done writing that yet??

I tend to get chocolate cravings after lunch and after dinner, even though I'm full. It's annoyingly hard to resist!

Hi Grace, The problem with chocolate is it is loaded with carbs. Every book in the world says that chocolate is good for girsl even when u want to loose weight.
But certainly everything has to be done in limits. And when the CRAVING comes, you definately forget all limits and land up overindulging yourself which leads to weight gain. So even though caffine in chocolate is not a problem, it is not good for the "rear".

Well, I'll hope on this one..but to comment, increasing dopamine is the exact OPPOSITE of what we want for ideal BE conditions. Proclatin allows for the estrogen to better metabolize into fat and help mammary glands..kinda going from memory myself. Guess I'll have to back off the chocolate some, too ..darn leftover Halloween candy's causing too much temptation to always avoid.

Well, I just went to a cookie exchange party (brought home lots of chocolate), not to mention made some chocolate fudge myself, so all of that is sitting around tempting me...oh, what's girl to do?! Willpower, I need willpower!

Aaaaah! The great caffiene debate continues! This is has been an ongoing debate... Okay...I HAVE to HAVE my POP! I must...I would not do BE if I couldn't have my POP! So...I refrain from this particular addiction 1 hour before and 1 hour after taking my supplements. Worked GREAT for me. Pammy also drank coffee with her supplements. Fawn can give a clearer picture why "caffiene" is not pro-BE. I know there are reasons, just can't remember. Must be I need MORE POP! (dang fenugreek) Also, when putting together the "products" page, I read every site on there, most did recommend at least waiting 1 hour before/after. Some as little as 1/2 hour, some as much as 2 hours. Some NO CAFFIENE at all. In fact, Greenbush states they have not found it to effect BE purposes. And we wonder why there is a DEBATE about Caffiene. Sheeesh!

Okay, this is all there is to it: chocolate, caffeine, and BE are just going to HAVE TO find a way to coexist. PERIOD. They need to just work out their differences and get along! I'm not going to quit BE, I'm going to eat that fudge 'til it's gone, savoring every bite (and THEN I'm making more!), and I won't give up my morning coffee. I seem to be growing somewhat, anyway, so apparently I'm not taking in enough choc or caffeine to affect BE in a bad way. (On the other hand, I may have to buy bigger jeans before the year is over....) Grace
