Your stomach ache may come from either fenugreek or flax seed oil. If you can't do else, drop fenugreek, but you shouldn't be taking flax seed oil on a daily basis, it's harsh on the digestive tract (raw flax seed is worse).

You can certainly try eating a cracker or pretzels with your supplements. It is BETTER to take on an empty tummy, but NOT necessary. Especially if you are having such severe tummy issues. Try it with some food, see what happens. I hope it improves.

Hi Yurz, Sorry to hear that this has caused you so much discomfort. The herbs can certainly have such negative effects, think of people that have allergies. At this point your stomach is probably hypersensitive and needs to get a rest. Just use the extracts for massage until you feel better. Another thought, perhaps you are having a reaction to other foods as well but couldn't isolate them because of the herbs. I can't eat soy, corn or milk products in any great amount. Water is critical when I take the herb caps as well or the heartburn will torture me. When you decide to go back to the herbs try them as a tea and see if that is easier to digest and let us know how it goes.

Try taking the herbs with meals. That is how my wife does it and it does not seem to inhibit growth.
You mentioned extracts. That might be a good idea if you can stand the taste. Keep it under your tongue for a while before swallowing.
Good luck!

...also, Greenbush has some very good non alchololic extracts. You can also read the testimonials and see what others have done - like putting the extracts in certain drinks to kill the taste. www.greenbush.net/hargirbrease.htmlWahaika

Yes - I would definitely try taking them with food before giving up.
Also before going through the whole process of isolating and testing them too!
As for flax oil - well, I've never known it to be hard on the digestive tract (the oil, not the seed, though the seed DOES make an excellent hot cereal that is low in starch). It isn't really a BE necessity, so you may want to try omitting that ANYWAY.
But first, try your herbs with food.
