Hello all...Just a question. I was wondering if anyone else besides myself was taking the depo shot for BC? I have read alot about BE and BCP, but haven't found anything about BE and depo. Does anyone know if these two mix well or not? Just wanted to know what u all thought!!! , Kell

Hi Kell Wenonae is our big dep and BE expert. She was on BO and could NOT use Red Clover, so she started using oregano, and had success with it. So if you are on a herbal base, use red clover which cuts the progesterone but doesn't seem to bother the effectiveness. Wen??? We need your 2 cents..cha-ching!

Hi Princess, I'm not sure if ur on herbal or glandular BE, however, the progestins in BC act well enough in the system as progesterone (expcept it can't convert to other hormones). The importance is that progesterone/progestins 'block' the increase of prolactins. Prolactins allow estrogen to distibute fats. It was until, as Momi said, that I started taking PR-blockers (progesterone-blockers) that I was able to retain fats on my boobies without gaining and losing everything each mos. If ur not seeing progress, I'd highly recommend some type of PR-blcoker. RC was my first choice, however, u "shouldn't "mix glandulars and herbs, so there was this really cool paper that Fawn posted which listed herbs which acted as PR-blockers...oregano and damiana were there. I detailed those steps in my routine (in Routines) and a post on how I figured the dosages. I found for me oregano was most potent. It took 2200mg of BO + PR-blockers to get progress on Depo. I've since change my BC to Yasmin BC pills, reduced BO dosage, and I've gained and regained yet another inch. Hope this helps!

Thanks, I have only been on BE for a week now, but I thought that I would atleast ask the question. I wasn't sure if the BE and the depo shots would be compatable or not. I am not scheduled to go for another shot for another week and a half I think so I thought I ask here before I forgot to ask the doc...So I guess really I will just have to wait and see what happens in the next few months. Thanks again!!! , Kelly
