I wanted to thank you guys for the old posts that turned me on to T-Tapp. I have knee problems that I haven't been able to fix for years. I finally broke down and got the T-Tapp dvds, and I tried the workout yesterday. Crazy pain all around my knee, but not IN it. Today, no pain! I'm so excited. This whole workout involves lots of knee bending, something I haven't been able to do in years! Gonna keep up with it and hopefully it'll rehab my knee. And maybe get the tush in shape. Ugh, when I think of the thousands of dollars I've spent on physical therapy... So even if my boobs never grow, this forum has given me the means (I think, I hope) to fix my knee. That is worth so much to me. It means I'll be able to exercise for the first time in years. Though I think Fawn is right, T-Tapp is boring and painful. Worth it though. Thanks again guys! Kami

Hey folks,
I've been hearing about t-tapp for a while. . . and I finally looked it up. Does it really live up to its claims? Those of you who've used it - do you feel like it made as much of a difference (inches-wise and weight-wise) as the website says? I'd trust your opinions over other reviews - I know I'll get the straight stuff from all of you.
And also - where did you buy yours from? Because it's a pretty pricey program (at least, if you get it from their website. . . and ebay didn't have any).
Thanks so much -

I can't offer a lot of info about whether it works, as I've just started. I'll keep y'all updated with my progress or lackthereof.
What I can suggest, Peachy, is that you read the forums over there. Lots of good info, interesting facts.
I bought my set from the offical site. I figured it was worth it since you have to buy from them in order to get any of the upper level workouts. If money's a big issue, you could just get the Basic Workout +. That's the short one that is supposed to make a huge difference. One of the ladies at the office said that if you get that, and then want to buy the full beginners set later, they'll give you a discount so you aren't paying for the basic workout twice. *shrug* Or you could just use the free exercises on the website...those are good too. Diva Derriere burns like hell!
Perhaps some of the more experienced tappers will chime in with words of wisdom?

Fawn turned me on to T-Tapp and it was the best exercise program I ever bought. I HATE to exercise, but this I can do and loose inches and tighten up. Once your at your goal , you can do a workout every other day. I've tried tons and this is the only program that I ever stuck with and have seen great results. Been lazy lately and got yelled at by doctor, since having hysterectomy , they want me to exercise at least 3x a week. I also bought off her website. And you can also enter the drawings to win prizes. I have the whole system, plus her walking tapes. Even got my Mom doing them.

I found that T-Tapp lifted everything up to where it's was about 10 years ago. I had started getting back in the groove when my dad got sick, I stopped because I was at the hospital all the time, and haven't really started again. However, I found THESE pictures, which will break your heart ... This woman used both Low-carb dieting, a CLA/GLA combo and T-tapp and her results are phenomenal! I told her that she is now my hero! The killer is... www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=392628She's 43!!!! So, I'm definitely starting back to T-tapp. Because of my fibro, I need to start slowly, but if this lady can get these kind of results at HER age, well - nuts! I've already started the low-carb & the CLA/GLA combo, so we'll see. Fawn

I don't know that much about it, except that it's supposed to be great to help you drop inches. I know GLA is great for your skin.
Try googling it up.

She looks AMAZING!!! I would love to look like her but if we did something like that then wouldn't we lose our boobs? We need to keep as much fat on us as possible so our boobs will stay, right? I am wondering if we could do this after we are done with BE. Maybe boobs for this summer and then work on the rest of me for the next summer. She looks so good and no double chin! I hate that in pictures, you always see the chin. I'm not fat by any means but I still have that dreaded chin.

Fawn, Does cla/gla make you lose weight? Or is it just a combo of everything else? The guy in gNC told me today that you don't really lose weight, that you just tone up and for weight lifters it is good for when you want to look cut. I know that the people in health food stores dont' always know what they are talking about so I figured maybe you would know more. Have you noticed a difference since starting with the cla/gla? My husband is trying to lose weight and I got it for him so if I can't use it then at least it won't be a loss. Also are you still able to keep your boobs? I have worked so hard to get what I have and they are just starting to get growing again and i don't want to mess it up. Thanks so much for your input.

Hulagirl Hulagirl - guys at GNC are notorious for being completely clueless (unless it's the owner of a franchise). Normally, they are just dumb jocks with no real background. Although I don't know as much about CLA/GLA as I should (no time to do any research lately) I've been using it for a couple of weeks with great results. I've lost a little weight, but more inches - less jiggly, less cellulite and have gone down a size. So, I'm cool with it. It's helped me through the holiday eating fest, which I decided to enjoy, and while using it did not put on more than 1.5 pound in water weight, and maintained the inch loss. No lost boobage at all. I decided to enjoy the holiday foods starting Dec 23 - started back on today, so I cannot complain. Here's a cut/paste of a write up I found posted on the low carb forum: Essential fatty acids are good fats that occur naturally in food. They are just as important as the vitamins and minerals a body needs to function properly. Two of the hottest EFAs for weight loss and weight control are gamma linolenic acid (GLA) and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA). The problem is most Americans don’t consume enough of these EFAs to reap their benefits. Good fats are not just weight loss agents; they are keys to weight control. GLA can be synthesized from linoleic acid, which is found in certain oils, grains, and seeds. But due to a number of common dietary and lifestyle factors in today’s society, most of our bodies don’t make that conversion. The main metabolic roadblocks are trans fats (man-made fats), sugar, smoking, alcohol, aging, and illnesses such as diabetes. All of these factors affect the body’s ability to convert linoleic acid into GLA and efficiently burn fat. GLA is found naturally in seed oils like borage oil (20-24% GLA), evening primrose oil (8-10% GLA), and black currant seed oil (about 15% GLA). Supplementing with these oils provides GLA in a usable form, so the body can bypass the conversion process and get down to the business of burning excess fat. GLA is not just another fad. In the 1980s many studies focusing on GLA as a natural aid to weight reduction were published in prestigious medical journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine. These reports documented GLA’s definite promise in the battle of the bulge. Scientists like Dr. David Horrobin, a former professor of medicine at the University of Montreal, and Dr. M.A. Mir, a researcher and consultant at the Welsh National School of Medicine in Cardiff, identified two calorie-burning mechanisms that GLA helps to regulate. Simply put, GLA does two things to boost your metabolism. First it activates an under-active fat in overweight people known as brown adipose tissue (BAT) to burn calories. Second, GLA activates the ATPase metabolic process, commonly referred to as the “sodium pump”. In fact, GLA can stimulate the sodium pump to use up nearly 50% of the body’s total calories.Recent published studies on animals confirm GLA’s promise in the weight loss arena. These studies show obesity is linked to low GLA levels, and supplementation can correct or normalize these levels. Furthermore, supplementation in obese animals reduces food intake and weight gain. A Japanese researcher published a study in the Journal of Nutrition confirming that dietary GLA can reduce body fat both by increasing the metabolism of BAT, and by affecting the enzymes involved in the metabolism of fat, as well as glucose. Perhaps most interesting of all is the hypothesis that GLA, like other fatty acids, has the potential to elevate levels of serotonin, a brain chemical which contributes to the feeling of fullness. By elevating serotonin, you will feel satiated sooner, eat less, and not be tempted to overindulge. So not only does GLA have the ability to increase the body’s metabolism and burn fat, but it may work as an appetite suppressant as well. But science is not going to convince everyone. People need to see results. In a study involving GLA, Dr. Mir reported his subjects lost from 9.6 to 11.4 pounds over a six-week period. Dr. Horrobin described GLA as “a safe, non-drug way to stimulate the body’s metabolic activity and burn off fat.” Horrobin believes nearly one-third of all overweight people are metabolically impaired, interfering with the burning of excess calories. The CLA Breakthrough The latest good fat to be discovered, CLA has profound fat loss and healing benefits. CLA helps reduce body fat while retaining lean muscle mass. It is also considered a necessary fatty acid both for cell growth and as a building block of cell membranes. CLA occurs naturally in dairy foods, grass-fed beef and lamb, and other grass-fed animals. Before the 1970s, Americans got plenty of CLA by eating such foods. But today we are getting virtually no CLA in our foods because livestock is no longer grass fed, which decreases CLA levels by about 80%. To compound this deficiency, over the past 20 years many misguided Americans on low-fat diets avoided the only dietary sources of CLA available; meat, and dairy products like whole milk, butter and cheese. Luckily, science has found a way to create CLA from the linoleic acid found in sunflower and safflower oils. Today CLA is available as a convenient dietary supplement. To date, there are over 500 published studies on this previously unrecognized nutrient. The first human clinical trial using CLA was conducted in 1997 in Norway. This study was later published in the Journal of Nutrition.10 A 90-day double-blind clinical study showed a stunning 20% decrease in body fat, with an average loss of 7 pounds of fat in the group taking CLA. These results were achieved without a single change in dietary habits, establishing CLA supplementation for the first time as a simple, effortless weight loss tool. In addition to its ability to reduce body fat, CLA has also been shown to increase lean muscle mass. In this same study, although the participants lost body fat, they experienced very little change in overall body weight due to the increase in lean muscle mass. The end result was a stronger, healthier body. In August of 2000, Pariza presented the long-awaited results of a clinical trial designed to assess the effects of CLA on the body composition of obese men and women. In the trial, 80 overweight people dieted for several months, then went back to their regular eating habits. Like most of us, once they returned to their old habits they regained some of the weight. Interestingly, the group taking CLA put the pounds back on in a ratio of half fat to half lean muscle. This is rather impressive when you consider the control group regained the weight at a ratio of 75% fat to 25% lean muscle. With CLA supplementation, the regained weight is more muscle and less fat. The benefits of CLA do not stop at weight loss. Laboratory research over the past two decades has shown that CLA also modulates the immune response, protects against heart disease, and inhibits the growth of various cancers. In several studies, CLA has demonstrated an outstanding ability to prevent and control adult onset (type 2) diabetes, now considered to be an American epidemic. Researchers from Purdue University in Indiana reported a dramatic improvement in serum insulin response in patients taking 6g of CLA daily. Over 80% of patients experienced an improvement in the levels of leptin, a hormone that regulates both insulin and obesity. CLA may also be a potent agent for preventing osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, since it helps prevent bone loss. _________________

Fawn -
Thanks for the interesting post. It sounds like this stuff is promising for those of us fighting belly fat when on herbs. What brand of GLA/CLA are you using?
Thanks and happy new year -
