I was just wondering if BE herbs could affect the anesthesia or anything else involved in getting wisdom teeth removed. I have to get 4 removed on July 21, and wondered if I should stop taking herbs for the time before the procedure. I know it's childish , but I don't want to have to tell the doctor I'm taking them so they can make any proper adjustments. Yet I'm scared to death of something going wrong due to the herbs. Please Help! Thanks

The herbs for NBE affect hormonal levels, which are not directly tied to nerve responses. My guess is that you should be ok . I take Alleve and other pains meds all the time and have never felt effects of dizzyness or some other added aggravation.

Looks like a couple of them might increase bleeding (which could happen). Check out the link Barb provided - red clover, bromelain, cayenne, fenugreek, tumeric, etc.
If your doc tells you to stop taking aspirin a week or two prior, then you should stop taking the herbs as well.
Personally, I'd stop taking them at least a week prior, just to be on the safe side.

GREAT Recoos, ladies! ;D In my BE beginning, we used the site above and this other one Herbal Interactions for anything we weren't sure about. It's been so long since I've used those now, but this one may be of help, too. I may have been off/misleading in my advice..it's sure much better safer than sorry!

Thanks for all the responses! I think I'm going to go ahead and stop taking the herbs prior to surgery. I haven't gotten any noticeable results yet anyway (I just started BE about a month ago) so I won't have anything to miss! Thanks again!
