Hello Ladies. Ive been wondering ...while on the herbs, pills and creams for BE do you develop bad breakouts? And if you do...is it all over your body..? Also does your skin get extremely dry? I mean can someone please let me know what are the side effects when it comes to acne and skin? Ive read alot about how some women become moodier,or some have less PMS symtoms..and all those type of pos/negative side effects. What about the skin? And is it imediate if you start to break out and/or consistent until you are off the BE routine??

I had breakouts on my face, could have been on my back also but I was more concerned about my face.
It has now disappeared, around the middle of the 2nd month. For me I think it was the Wild Yam, but I think maybe my body needed a bit of time to adjust to the herbs. How long have you been on them?
I did not have any dryness, but I take EPO and Flax seed oil which is suppose to be good for the skin and I also use alot of safe natural products on my skin.
So hopefully this is just temporary for you. Make sure you are also on a good diet, your body probably needs time to adjust to the herbs.

Yes, I'm breaking out now and I'm so upset! One of the things I really like about myself is my clear skin. . . and I'm frantically trying to quell breakouts by soaking "underground" zits with erythromycin. . . ugh! I had better get something out of this second puberty i.e. an increased breast size!!!

Yep!I got "underground" zits too and not only on my face but my chin and neck too! They appeared when I started BE so I guess they'll go away as soon as I stop the herbs. Peachy, what is erythromycin?Does it work well?Where can I find it?

shakira8,
erythromycin is a prescription medication in a topical solution form; I get the 2% erythromycin, although it is available in other formulations. It's basically an antibiotic (drug class is macrolide), so you'll have to have your doctor prescribe it. It's generally not very expensive, and most insurances will cover it. Other things you can try:
1) Benzoyl Peroxide 10% cream available over the counter (but this can cause some drying and irritation of skin)
2) Salicylic Acid also available over the counter
3) Tea Tree Oil - I've seen this at Wal-Mart, and it's supposed to be good for clearing up skin, although I've never tried it
4) Differin (adapalene) gel - prescription only, and it can be pretty expensive if you don't have insurance
5) Accutane (isotretinoin) - a vitamin A relative, very effective for moderate to severe acne, but costs an arm and a leg and you can't take it if you have the slightest chance of being pregnant (plus there are associated costs: you have to have bloodwork done every month or so to monitor your liver enzymes and to make sure you're not pregnant)
And yes, erythromycin works pretty well for me. . . I use it during the day and Differin at night when breakouts get bad (as they are now). Once a week I use Queen Helene's Mint Julep Masque which actually does help dry up some pimples.
I hope this helps. . . I really sympathize. . . these zits are driving me crazy. I'm getting them on my chest as well, and yesterday felt one on my back. . . ugh!!! Like I said, we had better be getting something out of this. . . .

I am breaking out so bad. The last round my face ended up clearing up but this time it's even embarrassing for my husband to see. I am hoping that it clears up soon. I can't take erythromiacin because I am allergic to it so I will have to jsut suffer, nothing I use helps so just more coverup.

I had alot of acne too...and not just on my face. I still have some the acne...but I just stopped NBE about a week ago. So, that could be why I still have some.
