Hi all, Up to day 9 now. I have ramped up to 3x fenugreek and 3x saw palmetto per day. I took my first wild yam today. I have felt fuller in my bust for a couple of days. I haven't felt any aches but I think I have felt some tingles and itches today. I will see how I go as I ramp up the wild yam. I am still massaging with aloe vera gel but not every night Since starting this routine I have taken tea and soft drink out of my diet but I'm adjusting well. I have noticed frequency in going to the toilet though (for wee's). I have almost never woken up during the night to go but now it's every night and alot during the day! Odd?? elizabeth

Another update...I have fully ramped up now. I am taking Fenugreek, Saw Palmetto & Wild Yam, taking 3 per day of each. I have been massaging with a tea tree oil body wash whilst in the shower. After reading the thread on tea tree and lavender I thought I must be on the right track so I'm sticking with it. I'm still not feeling any aches as such. I feel the occasional itch and tingle. I hope I am doing everything right so far. I'm not so smelly anymore from the fenugreek (unless I'm just used to it)! No growth that I can see. The fullness I had earlier is still there. If you think I need help don't hesitate to say so. elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth,
Are you massaging with aloe vera gel and fenugreek extract? Don't forget to heat up with a heated pad set to low first, then follow with 15-30 minutes of heat.
Are you taking a good multivitamin containing zinc and a B complex?
Also, take 1 gram of borage oil just before bedtime. You can also add it to your massage routine.
You're on 3 per day on each of the greenbush herbs, keep ramping per madredesiete's routine. Don't go past 5 per day of fenugreek and Wild Yam. When you start feeling growing pains, keep going until they go away and then back off to try and get them back.
Good luck!

Hi Wahaika,
I am massaging with just aloe vera gel. I haven't added any extract as yet. I was taking a multivitamin (Centrum) before I started BE. I will go back on this. Is there an alternative to the heating pad? I have seen some ladies put towels in the dryer and use those hot. But I don't have a dryer! Would a hot water bottle in a towel work as good?
I am skipping today, this is day 16 of my routine. I am also thinking of swapping fenugreek for fennel. I bought the bulk pack from Greenbush so I have alot of fenugreek to go through. Not only because of the smell but I think the fenugreek is making me angry and short fused. I wasn't feeling like this before and others have noticed too.
After today I will continue ramping and hope I feel the pains and I'll get some Borage Oil too.
Also Wahaika would it be ok for me to take Sage tablets or would this interfere with my routine?
Thanks for your help elizabeth

Elizabeth,
You need extract in your massage. The idea behind massaging is to get the herbs to absorb locally through the skin. The purpose for aloe vera is to help the herbs absorb as deep as possible. A hot water bottle in a towel is OK too!
Centrum is too weak (like about 4 times). Try a GNC brand.

Yep, this is a common side effect. You can try ramping fennel, but the effect will be the same. It's just the price to pay for being more estrogenic. A lot of women joke about that - how fenugreek changes them into MONSTERS! But it is common.
Sage should be OK. How much were you considering? Are you going to ramp that up also?

Wahaika, I will definately be getting some exract to add to the Aloe Vera Gel. How much do you suppose I use of the extract? I will have to have a look in the health food shop for GNC brand. If the fennel has the same effect then there probably is no point in swapping. I have alot of fenugreek to go through so I think I'll stick with it. The positives of taking it outway the negatives! I've seen one dose that's 400mg per tablet, 2 tablets taken twice a day. Would it be a good idea to ramp up the sage? I haven't decided to add this yet, I don't fancy the idea of taking more tablets. Thanks for your help Wahaika elizabeth

Elizabeth,
It depends. For the Greenbush droppers, use one each side, sometimes more, depending on the surface area. You need enough to cover the area and massage in. The Greenbush droppers are about 3 or 4 inches long. I don't know how many mls that is.
It's best to ramp up in the smallest increment that you have. So if you have 400mg tablets that are meant to be taken two at a time, ramp up one at a time.

Thanks Wahaika
I managed to get 200ml of Fenugreek Extract from the health food store and I found a dropper bottle at home.
I am now massaging with aloe vera gel and the extract. The hot water bottle heat worked well.
I have continued to ramp up my herbs and am feeling a little tenderness. I will wait and see what happens now....
Thanks for your advice

Another update... I have ramped up a little further with the herbs now. The tenderness I was feeling isn't as bad as it was the other day. I thought this was caused by the massages but I haven't stopped massaging, which is making me think these might be my growing pains. I noted the day which was only a couple of days ago when the tenderness started and the only herb I ramped up during that time was SP. I think I will ramp the SP back down to where I felt the tenderness and hopefully I can get it back. I have fully ramped up the FG - 5 per day and still on 3 per day of WY. I hope what I felt is growing pains and not just massage tenderness... elizabeth

Hi all, At the moment I am taking: Morning2 x FG 2 x SP 1 x WY Afternoon2 x FG 1 x SP 1 x WY Evening1 x FG 2 x SP 1 x WY I dont know whether to stay like this or take the 2 FG in the evening and take just one of each herb in the afternoon. Would it matter? Any suggestions? I am massaging once a day in the afternoon with Aloe Vera Gel and FG extract followed by a hot water bottle for about 20 mins. I am feeling tenderness and occasional itches. I took some pictures during this month and compared. I found that around the 26th I had alot of swelling and thought I was onto something good . I also found this is my ovulation day and the start of my luteal phase. So swelling it was and it didnt last long I will continue measuring and comparing! elizabeth

Hi all, Well I am almost at my 8th week now. I am still taking the same amount of herbs. I have been very slack with the massaging and heat I really have to get my stuff together and keep it up. MORNING - 2 x FG , 2 x SP and 1 x WY NOON - 1 x FG , 1 x SP and 1 x WY NIGHT - 2 x FG , 2 x SP and 1 x WY I wasn't feeling many tingles or aches at all in the second half of my cycle (after my period) but now I can feel them returning. elizabeth

For the last week or so I haven't been taking my nighttime dose of herbs. Not on purpose though and I have never had sorer boobs! So sore to touch and the itches are there like crazy. I think I might spread out my morning and lunchtime doses to cover the whole day. I had a lot more swelling around my ovulation day this cycle and I usually deflate in the second half but I dont seem to be this time around...yet! I still havent measured recently. The last time I measured properly was around the end of July so now would probably be a good time. elizabeth
