Sorry. I still don't quite get the technique. If I am rotating in and down on top, am I not rotating up and out on the bottom? thanks. tea

I don't understand this either.
In order to understand the direction; If you start at the top near the clavicle, and do 1/4 of a rotation, do you rotate in the direction of the sternum or in the direction of the side of the ribs/lats?

Hi Tea and Wahaika, The way I picture the movement is like the scene in the "Karate Kid" where he's told, "Wax on, wax off." The difference is that you're waxing on with one hand and off with the other ><

Let me know if this helps:
Imagine there is a clock on each breast - you would rotate the RIGHT breast in a CLOCKWISE direction, but you would rotate the LEFT breast in a COUNTERCLOCKWISE direction. Press your palm against your breast and trace a circle in the appropriate direction.
I do both breasts at once, though it can be a little tiring for the arms.
If this is still confusing, let me know and I will try to post a drawing!!
Good luck! This seems to be working for people ... let me know your results if you give it a try!
Lucy

Hey Lucille, Just a dumb question...were u the one who found all the info on reiki massage or was that someone else? I have been online looking to see if I could possibly find any illustrations on this since there are alot of us wondering if we are doing this right or not...but can't find anything to help. If u can post something with a picture or illustration of some sort I think this would help out alot!!! Thanks, Kelly

Ok, The wax-on wax-off motion agrees with Lucy's explanation of clockwise on the right and counter clockwise on the left. So, a rotation starting at the clavicle (the top) goes clavicle to sternum to bottom to arm to clavicle. (Either side) NOT - Sand The Floor - where a rotation is clavicle to arm to bottom to sternum to clavicle. Right? Right! Got it. I think. Wenonae explains it as the opposite at the end of this thread (last page): "Strange but maybe helpful BE info " beboard.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=general&thread=1072892220&action=dWhat is the motion? Are you tracing a spiral or tracing a circumference or pressing down with the palm and rotating the palm while pressing? Maybe I should just buy the book. Wahaika

Seems like the more information that gets posted on here about massage, the more confused I get. I will say that at one point I really thought I understood this, but no....not so sure...lol...anyway, what has worked for me the best has been just a general inward motion. Now granted I am only massaging one breast to try to get it to equal out to the other side, but it has worked. There really needs to be some demonstration posted...so if anyone has pictures...we could sure use them about now. Kelly

Hi. I have been doing the "twist off a lid" technique recomended by Wenonae in the direction suggested by Wahaika for about a week. My usual massage left me very firm. This is leaving me soft and poofy (swollen?) and a different shape...don't get excited...not bigger...just pointier. Can't say I like it. I look like I need to fill in like Momi always says. Thanks and good luck. tea

Ok, now I'm really confused. I thought I understood this, but maybe I've been doing this wrong. A while back Wenonae posted that "it's counter-clockwise on right breast and clockwise on left breast". That made sense to me, as this would be an "inward rotation". If you are standing right in front of a clock and doing the massage with one hand on each breast, wouldn't it be COUNTER-CLOCKWISE on the RIGHT (starting at the top of right breast and going TOWARDS the left breast, then under the breast, then to the outer side (near the arm) and then back to the top- like you're drawing a circle or opening a jar) and CLOCKWISE on the LEFT, as Wenonae said?
But now this latest post says the opposite. Have I been doing this backwards?

Hey Guys, Oh boy, this IS getting confusing!!! I'm the one who originally posted the technique, so I'll put some pictures up by the end of the day! I promise!
By the way, when I was describing a clockwise/counterclockwise direction, I was picturing the breast as a clock, with the numbers facing out of your chest.
You're right, Venus - if you are FACING A CLOCK, it would be as you described: right - counterclockwise and left - clockwise.
Ouch, my head hurts from all this, hahah! Lucy

Hey Lucille, Thank goodness u will post this. I think that I am doing this right, but the more posts there are, the more I am wondering if I am in fact doing this the right way! The way I was picturing this was that the breast itself was the clock and it made more sense to me. I also was doing just a basic inward massage along with the reiki massage....just in case I was wrong. And the post by Wen about twisting off the lid made sense as well, but I wondered how much pressure u were supposed to apply while massaging? I would think gently...but again, don't wanna be assuming I am right here! Thanks for your help...can't wait to see your post on this today! Kelly

OKAY! This is a one time offer! I will post on the "news fader" a date and time, for people to meet on Yahoo for a video demonstration. WITH CLOTHING ON! I can't really say a definite date and time, cuz the kidz would think I went flippin' NUTZ! They are going to need years of therapy as it is, without seeing their mother play with her boobs! ON THE INTERNET! Watch the news fader for further information. ;D
