I'm an American and I cant stand Americans. I love that some of you guys agree with gay marriages. Ever since I turned 18 I have joined the fight for equal rights. I'm still in school so it has been my point to make my senior project gay related. My attempts are to educate the younger grades about homosexuality and hate crimes toward homosexuals. I am teaching them about homosexuality because chances are the kids that disagree with it dont know the whole story. Their parents tell them its wrong but they dont get a chance to decide for themselves. I read on a New Report that 61% of the people who oppose Gay marriages are the age of 65 and higher. This gave hope that within the next 10 to 20 years(seems long but it has to happen sometime) we will be able to give Gays their rights. I cried when Bush got re-elected because I voted against him and I strongly disagree with him. To me he is VERY IGNORANT. He has no idea what he is doing. I'm not religious at all but if there is an Anti-Christ I think Bush would be him.

I just wanted to say that everyone is born a certain race or born different as in deformaties. No one is born gay, thats by choice. God does not judge race or the way you are born as in body, but by your choices. Everything is played through the mind before it becomes an action or a feeling. You made a choice to be gay you are not born gay and even before I became a christian this was just common sense. Your mind is a powerful thing. Your body did not say "I am gay" your mind did. Then you made yourself beleave you are born this way. I have been with a women before but thats before I realize by choice it was just not right. I was not born to like other women I made that choice to like other women. Now by choice I beleave it is wrong and beleave in the word of God. I am not perfect and I do fail by my wrong choices, but thats why I thank God for Jesus. I am only human, But I do not say "this is how I am" and not try to change and say God will over look it and except it, because He will not. God gave us the freedom of choice.

If God does not want to accept me for the way i am or the way i want to be then I don't accept God. That's how I feel.

well I guess I disagree with you..since it is my choice I feel that you are born gay but it is your choice to persue your feelings of homosexuality. Maybe that is why men (and women) end up in marriages, and then end them because they dont feel they should be with a woman. If it was a choice to be gay then why would they put themselves in a position such as a failed marriage.

There is no real proof saying gays are born that way. I mean is there a cell in your body thats differant then ours that you were born with, that states this is the reason you are gay. Or anything in your body that all gays have that make them gay. Being born with red, black, or brown hair apart of the body( born with). Being white, black, or brown( born with). The body is what you are born with. Being gay is the chioce you took at some point in your life.

Just a thought and an opinion, but if you think REALLY, really hard about it, there are many mental issues people are born with too, where people look 'normal' (extreme anger, depression, etc.). Since the only way for procreation is with someone of the opposite sex, then to feel you HAVE to be with someone of the same sex is a SERIOUS, serious mental issue. Therefore, I think you HAVE to be born with it, else everyone is suseptible to letting the human race die because we might all wake up and want to be with the same sex. Not. Wen'

People that are born with mental problems as you say gays is an mental problem you are born with, but does not doctors try to correct the the mental problem that is not normal. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brian and anger is a form of feeling. Doctors can help the depresssed person by balancing the chemicals in your brian but there are differant kinds of depression and not all can be helped by drugs or doctors, but by cancelers guidance to help you think positive and help you work out problems. If being gay is a mental problem that people are born with then it is another mental case that doctors need to fix. Stress, depression, anxiety panic attacks, mood swings are some of the things you develope in you life not born with. These are kinds of feeling. Aids, diabeties, mental retardation are some of the health conditions you can be born with, but diabeties can be developed some time in life too. So you can put being gay is a mental problem or condition you are born with in with these real conditions or mental problems. Then maybe gays need to see a doctor to see if there is cure for the problem that they were born with.

Everything isn't cureable. If it were, doctors would have no purpose. At this point, drs. can not modify DNA profiles, they can only identify things about it and work with the end result. Being gay is a genetic defect that affects the brain which for the most part doesn't affect outward appearances, from what I can sum up.
Also gays don't have a problem with being gay. Society does. We should just let them be and let them have whatever happiness they can outta life. So long as they aren't trying to convert me and other 'straights', then I say let them be.

That is a good statment but why can't none beleavers let us be. We can not read bibles in schools. None beleavers go out of there way to cut God out of everything and a lot of gays keep on saying there is no verse in the bible that state being gay is wrong, but it does. when we say something that God says is a sin and state are opinions we become crazy christian freaks. That we are going over board about everything but does not everyone, christian and nonchristians. I am just here to learn what herbs help and if they can work. Well peace to all.

Being gay is not a "defect", it's just different. Bisexual behavior is common in both humans and animals, but most have a dominant orientation which is not a matter of choice (like those poor gay penguins in the Netherlands) The one thing I like about Americans is that when we finally confront our disgusting prejudices we fight them tooth and nail and stomp them in the dirt. Americans used to think it was okay to "own" people and work them to death because they had darker skin. And we used to think that some people were too hysterical and ignorant to vote, because they were female. And eventually, we'll stop refusing civil liberties to some people because of their sexual orientation. I certainly wouldnt' want anyone to judge me on what I like to do in bed! And no, we can't have the bible in public schools. The point is that "non-believers" also pay taxes and don't want the schools using their tax money to teach their children someone else's religion. I feel the same way about the overtly religious as Wen does about homosexuals, "We should just let them be and let them have whatever happiness they can outta life. So long as they aren't trying to convert me and other 'straights', then I say let them be. " Fawn
