I was wondering if you ever considered helping out the ladies on Eve's forum? There are always women needing advice in the general section. I read some of their posts sometimes and try to remember the advice that you have given, so the idea crossed my mind to ask you about it.

Yes, Wahaika, please consider becoming a regular poster on Eve's Forum. Your advice would be very welcome there.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I have given it some thought. I have to differ a little bit though. After the trial by fire I went through on this board, I rather doubt that I would be accepted as a regular poster on Eve's forum. Tolerated, yes. Accepted, doubtful.
I also need to know stats if I am going to help anyone. I have not seen any stats pages there, other than the few who happen to include them.
I also like the idea of Eve's board remaining 100% female.
I'll try replying to a few this week and see what the reaction is.

There are actually one or two men currently using Eve's board already... So it isn't 100% female anyway.

Interesting. I didn't know that. Are they on for themselves or for their spouses? I noticed that Eve added a board for males trying to grow them themselves.

From what I have read so far, the males are trying to grow breasts for themselves. From what I have read men naturally have and need small amounts of estrogen, but it seems too much is not healthy either. I felt tempted to ask some of them if they aren't worried about the estrogens effecting their over all health, but so far I have not been brave enough. Surprisingly there seem to be alot of them. I wanted to ask you Wahaika if you have heard of DIM (diindolylmethane)? I don't know very much about it and when I research it, the reading is pretty hard to understand. I am going to try it in hopes that it will help my body temp, but it sounds like it could possibly be good for BE in general, but I could be wrong, like I said, I am having a hard time understanding all the medical terms in the studies that have been done. It would be nice to know what all good possible effects could come of using it.

All of the ones I have seen are doing it for themselves...but they have been sticking mostly to the board for men since it has been created...

Hello Mandy,
DIM looks safe enough to use. What brand did you have in mind? Where do you buy it? Health food store?
It appears to raise estrogen levels and promote health in several ways including protecting against breast cancer. I cannot find any adverse side effects. It does not appear to bind to any unwanted receptor.
I have not seen anything on the mechanism of how it works, yet. I think that there is still not enough research or time in the field for it to have proven itself.
I'll keep looking for the next couple of weeks. If I find anything I'll post it, otherwise, it looks like good stuff so far.

I got Source Naturals DIM from iherb.com 100mg tablets. Thanks Wahaika for looking it up and translating for me! I actually haven't received the product yet, but Sissy on Eve's board recommended it for thyroid help, although when I looked it up I did not see anything pertaining to the thyroid specifically. I guess Michelle Choi on Eve's board took it in her routine. I don't know whether or not it helped her BE efforts, but she does have some good results with BE. So Sissy is now trying it and says it's been a week and her body temp has gone up. Maybe it could help those of us with slower metabolisms. Sounds like it would be one of those really interesting supplements to do a study on...If I were a scientist that is. ~Thanks for your time.

Hi all, it's Sissy from Eve's forum. I did mention DIM the other day and just went back and looked and found that I mis-spoke. I meant to say that it optimises metabolism rather than thyroid. My L-Tyrosine bottle says that it supports Thryroid and I got them mixed up. I guess I should be more careful if as I could give out wrong info, I wouldn't have realized I said that if I didn't see it here. Sorry.
I learned about it first from a BB user's blog site, then I saw that Michelle used it also and figured I should try, since I realized my temp was still too low.
I have a slow metabolism, possible thyroid problems that I haven't had checked, but I do think it has helped me.
By the way, you have a nice forum here, everyone is very helpful and respectful. So much knowledge and info here, I'll be reading for the next month. Take Care!

Hello sissy2345,
I figured the thyroid comments went with the L-Tyrosine comments. The info on DIM mentions better metabolism of estrogen almost everywhere that it is written about. The current question we're trying to resolve is the 2-hydroxyestrone vs 2-hydroxyestrogen question in the Qs. for chellechoi thread. Maybe they mean the same thing since estrone is a subset of that which is referred to as estrogen. If you have any insight, be sure to chime in.

Hey there sissy2345! I am the same person as lassysam on Eve's board. I didn't even think to try using the same login name. That's ok that you mis spoke. We all do that. I was really hoping the DIM helped with thyroid, but that's ok I am still taking it to see if it helps me in any aspect. And I have come across other web sites that advertise it to help with weight loss, which is interesting. How did you know to come here and respond to the thread? Just curious. I have noticed lots of ladies visit both Eve's forum and this one. They're both great forums.

Hey girl! You mean your real name isn't lassysam? lol. I was searching for info on using BO and progesterone cream together, and found this thread and realized I had made an error. I hope you do get some benefit from it, I think it has helped me, but still I should be more careful what I say. I think of thyroid and metabolism together, that's probably why I did that. I am hoping it might aid in weight loss too. There is so much knowledge on both boards, I have spent hours upon hours reading the old threads at Eve's, figured I should do the same here. Talk to you later! Sissy
