ok just wondering if fenugreek saw palmetto etc routine affects periods? like with PM pills, if you take them for 15 days then stop a week later you'll get your period. if you take them without a break you dont get one or are very late. does the fenugreek routine do this too or do you get your period as normal, give or take a few days?

tweetysweety, It only happens with some women. The way to avoid it is to take a one day break from all herbs (including EPO and borage oil, not the multivitamin) on around the [(last day of cycle) -14 days] th day or the next day. So if you have a 28 day cycle then you take a one day break on day 14 or 15. Your cycle may change by a few days one way or the other. This is expected and is nothing to worry about. The theory is that the one day break facilitates the LH spike which initiates the Luteal phase by dropping the egg. You can see this chart for a representation of the LH spike: www.sisterzeus.com/hormonechart.htmThe theory seems to work. I have not seen a single case where it has not worked. Its also good to take a one day break on day one. Both of these days will help clear estrogen receptors to keep your cells from desensitizing to estrogen. Wahaika

I've found that ALL methods of BE can affect the timing of your menstrual cycle, but Wahaika's reasoning makes sense.
I definitely agree with taking day 1 (first day of period) as a break day.
